One of UO’s top women’s additions in 2006-07. Will challenge for an NCAA pole vault invitation, and may also contend for conference and regional meet points in the high jump. Owns impressive indoor and outdoor personal bests in the pole vault (13-7 1/4) and high jump (5-10). Name pronounced IN-uh-kuh air-OSCH.
Prep: Placed third in pole vault and high jump in 2005 and ‘06 Hungarian national championships. Won pole vault in 2006 Hungarian junior national championships. Led her age group in the pole vault junior championships each year from 2001-06, and also in the high jump in ’06. Owned top pole vault season best among Hungarian juniors in 2006 and ranked top-four overall in the country in 2006 with her outdoor season and personal best of 13-7 1/4 (4.15m). Also competed in 2006 in the European junior championships for ages 19 and under (pole vault, sixth, 13-1 1/2; high jump, 12th, 5-8), held in Kanuas Lithuania. Turned in strong 2005 campaign with personal bests outdoors in the high jump (5-10, 1.78m) and pole vault (13-1 1/2, 4.00m), while she cleared her indoor high best (5-10, 1.78m) for the first time in 2004. Also competed in the 2003 World Youth Championships held in Sherbrooke, Montreal (15th, 11-5 3/4, 3.50m) and 2003 European Olympic Festival for ages 17 and under (third). High School: Saint Stephen (or Szent Istavan) ’05. 2006 Personal/Season Bests: Outdoors - Pole Vault, 4.00m (13-1 1/2), Plzen (7/29/06); High Jump - 1.75m (5-8 3/4), Zalaegerszeg, May 27, 2006.
