The senior pole vaulter looks ahead to his second Duck season in 2008, and is one of three Duck returnees with personal bests of 16-0 or better. Was the oldest of three pole vault newcomers that joined the Ducks in 2006-07, and transferred from Highline Community College. In 2008, will set sights on outdoor clearance of 16-6 3/4 to earn his first regional invitation. As a prep, was a three-time top-10 Washington state placer.
2006-07: Was limited by injuries and competed in one pole vault competition both outdoors and indoors. Personal / Season Bests: Outdoors ? Pole Vault ? 4.60m (15-1), Oregon Invitational, Eugene, Ore. (4/21/07). Indoors - 4.61m (15-1 1/2), UW Indoor Invitational, Seattle, Wash. (1/27/07).
Before Oregon: Competed for High Community College in 2005 and redshirted the ’06 season. Was a junior college All-American in the 4x100m relay based on their NWAACC Conference meet runner-up finish. Finished third in the 2005 NWAACC Championships in the pole vault (15-6).
Prep: Competed in Washington state championships pole vault as a senior (fifth), junior (third) and sophomore (ninth). Owned prep best of 14-0 as a senior and cleared 13-0 as a junior. Four-year letterwinner in track, three-year letterwinner in cross country, and one-year letterwinner in wrestling at the 112-pound weight class. High School (Coach): Port Townsend ’04 (Kevin Sanford).
