Missed most of his junior season after injuring his hamstring in the Texas Relays in early April, but will be a key player for Ducks in 2004 in its highest-scoring event at the Pac-10 level the past four seasons. Among personal bests in decathlon, ranks second among Duck returnees wit his 6,832-point score form 2002 for nearby Lane CC.

Opened outdoor season in Oregon Preview in pole vault (third, 14-11) and long jump (fourth, 21-0 1/2w). Indoors, saw limited work and owned season bests in 60 hurdles (8.87), high jump (6-0 3/4), pole vault (14-11), long jump (20-7), and also ran lead-off on two 4x400 relays.
Before Oregon: Attended Lane Community College and was team’s leading scorer and captain in 2002. Coached by former Duck athlete Grady O’Connor and former Duck pole vault coach Dan West. Did not compete in 2000. Ranks second all-time among LCC decathletes behind world champion Tom Pappas and fifth all-time in the NWACC conference.
Prep: As junior in 1998, was 2A state placer in 800 (second) and high jump (fifth) and 300 hurdles, before missing 1999 meet as senior because of hamstring injury. Also a state qualifier in 1997 as sophomore in high jump and 800, and as a freshman in 1996 in 800, high jump and 4x400 (sixth).
