Heads into 2005, ranked sixth all-time for Ducks in hammer with her junior season best (174-11), in event that joined collegiate schedule in 1998. Ranks ninth in the Pac-10 and 22nd in the region in the hammer among returnees based on 2004 season bests. Improved hammer personal best by 1 1/2 feet in her first campaign for UO in 2004
2003-2004: Pac-10/Regional Qualifier (Hammer). Capped season with appearances in hammer in the West Regional (31st, 159-9), and Pac-10 Championships (11th, 161-10), and led Ducks in the latter meet. Overall, ranked second on squad with personal best and regional qualifier from April’s Oregon Invitational (sixth, 174-11). During season, threw 170 feet or better three times, and was one of three Duck regional qualifiers in the hammer, also eclipsed the qualifying distance in the Oregon Twilight (3rd, 174-0) in early May. Opened outdoor campaign with solid mark in the Oregon Preview (fourth, 170-7) in Eugene - just shy of her preseason best of 173-5. Altogether, ended campaign ranked 16th in Pac-10, 37th in region and 109th nationally based on regular season bests. Indoors, threw 50-feet or better in the weight throw in three of four meets, and ranked second on the team with mark from February’s Pac-10 Invitational (fifth, 54-8). Made appearance in Mountain Pacific Championship meet (17th, 49-1 1/2) to end indoor season.
Before Oregon: Transferred to Ducks in fall of 2003 with the following personal bests - hammer (173-5), shot put (42-8) and discus (145-3) after she attended Sierra College Sierra Junior College in Sacramento. Competed for junior college in track and field and softball (centerfielder) in 2001 and 2002, and in volleyball (front-row hitter) only the 2002-03 season. As a sophomore in the 2002 California Community College Championships, she placed top three in the hammer (second, PR 171-1), shot put (second, PR 42-0 1/2) and discus (third, PR 145-3). In the 2001 edition, she placed top-eight in the hammer (third, 151-0), shot put (eighth, 40-1 3/4) and discus (eighth, 120-9).
Prep: As a prep senior at Hoopa High School between Redding and Eureka, Calif., she finished top-12 in the 2000 Meet of Champions for Northern California in the shot put (37-0) and discus (111-0), and owned prep bests of 38-9 and 111-3, and 4-9 in the high jump. A four-year letterwinner in track, team MVP and all-county selection. Also a four-year letterwinner in basketball and volleyball, and once in softball.
