A senior and second-year Duck that transferred from Barton Community College. Owns fastest 800 personal best of Ducks’ middle-distance corps (1:48.41) from his final junior college season in 2003. Could also see duty in 400 and 4x400 relay to boost team’s scoring during the regular and championship seasons. Outdoors in 2005, will look to dip below 1:50.40 qualifying standard to net regional invite.
Fall 2004: Raced once for Ducks in cross country. Competed on ?B’ unit in Pier Park Preview in early September in Portland (39th, 4 miles-26:34).
2003-2004: NCAA Qualifier (4x400 indoors). Indoors, ran on UO's 4x400 relay in NCAA Championships (11th, 4:18.28) that was slowed by a mid-race injury to anchor Matt Scherer. A month before, ran third leg on a pair of school indoor 4x400 relays in consecutive weekends in early February - the United Heritage Invitational (fourth, 3:09.13, 48.2 split) and Iowa State Classic (third, 3:06.54, 47.3 split). Individually, ran two 400-meter races early in season as regained health, and ran a seasonal best in the Bodybuilding.com Invitational (ninth, 49.80). Outdoors, raced 800 once in the Pepsi Invite (sixth, 1:53.06).
Before Oregon: As a sophomore at Barton Community College in 2003, he ranked 34th in the U.S. with his personal best (1:48.41) from the McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. (4/12/03) - and ranked 17th among all U.S. collegians. Outdoors in the 2003 outdoor national junior college championships, competed in the 800 (12th-prelim, 2:00.27), 4x400 (second, 3:08.12) and 4x800 (third, 7:45.74), as the shorter relay vaulted the squad to its sixth straight national team crown by eight points. Indoors in the national finale, he won titles in the 600 (1:18.19) and 1,000 (2:29.36) and also competed in the distance medley relay (1200 leg, ninth, 10:42.28) and helped his squad claim the team title (153.5 points). He had 2002 freshman indoor season bests in the 600y (1:12.59), 800m (1:51.44) and 1,000 (2:29.91) and outdoor season bests in the 400 (47.7), 800 (1:48.41), 1,500 (4:00.18) and 3-mile (15:45).
Prep: Specialized in the 400 and 800, and was a four-year letterwinner. High School (Coach): Cahoka ?00 (Crohette)
