Another quiet but important component of Oregon's Pac-10 championship team that featured top-eight individual efforts points from 20 of its 24-man travel party. Team’s top returnee in triple jump, and needs wind-legal leap of 50-9 1/4 to join Oregon top-10. Ranks fifth among Pac-10 returnees based on 2003 season bests (50-3 1/2w) with two of the top three graduated.
2002-03: Pac-10 & Regional Qualifier (Triple Jump). Was one of two Ducks in top 13 in West Regional (13th, 48-9, w:+0.7). Scored first top-eight finish in Pac-10 return (seventh, 49-8 1/2w, w:+2.9) and matched his pre-meet seeding. Overall, competed in seven outdoor contests with marks of 49 feet or better in five of them, and two +50 (albeit wind-aided). Topped 50-foot line for first time in career in Oregon Invitational (fourth, 50-0 1/2w, w:+2.2), then improved in Oregon Twilight (second, 50-3 1/2w, w:+2.3). One had two marks with daily bests that were wind-legal, so his wind-legal season best came in season debut in Oregon Preview (first, 49-5 1/2, w:+1.0). Also competed in long jump once outdoors in Pepsi Team Invite (sixth, 21-11 1/2). Indoors, did not compete after owning a freshman indoor best of 47-9 1/4 in 2002. 2001-02: Pac-10 Qualifier (Triple Jump). Added more than two feet to his triple jump season best, and competed in triple jump in five meets, with each past 47 meet and better than his prior prep best of 46-10. Missed Pac-10 points by only two inches with his ninth-place mark (49-0 1/4) in his conference debut. Topped 49 feet also in Washington Dual (third, 49-1 1/2). Twice finished second during season ?? Montana-Weber State Triangular (47-1 1/2), and Jesse Owens Classic (47-2 1/4). Indoors, ranked second on team in triple jump and cleared 47-foot line in UW Quad Classic (fourth, 47-9 1/4) and Mountain Pacific Championships (10th, 47-1 1/2). Prep:
