SUMMER 2009
Played for the Kauai Menehunes of the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League with Oregon teammate Antony Kreitz…Kauai finished second in the league standings with a 22-17 record, and Bartz was named to the 2009 HCBL All-Star Team…finished his summer hitting .295…one of the quicker players in the league, legged out five triples and also stole 12 bases in 13 attempts…added five doubles, 13 RBIs, 13 runs scored, a .466 slugging percentage and three assists from the outfield.
AS A JUNIOR • 2009
Ended the season on a five-game hitting streak, batting .353 (6-for-17) with four extra-base hits (3 triples, 1 double), three RBIs, two walks and two runs scored...for the year, appeared in 20 games, making nine starts in center and right fields...hit .257 (9-for-35), while also tying for the team lead with three triples...had a .457 slugging percentage and two stolen bases...had a four-game stretch with extra-base hits (three triples, one double) from May 19-23.
PRIOR TO OREGON
Spent the 2007 and 2008 seasons at Lassen Community College in Susanville, Calif., playing in the outfield for head coach John Bentley...was a two-time Golden Valley Conference first team selection...during the summer of 2008, played for the Anchorage Bucs of the Alaska Baseball League hitting .288 (15-for-52).
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2006 graduate of Sammamish High School in Bellevue, Washington...was a three-sport athlete at Sammamish, playing three years of baseball, basketball and golf.
