Played three seasons at Oregon (2009-11) as the Ducks reinstated
baseball for the 2009 season after the sport had been discontinued
following 1981..in three years batted .246 (51-for-207) with 26 RBIs, 21 runs scored, 11 doubles, seven home runs and a .401 slugging percentage.
AS A JUNIOR | 2011
Appeared in 24 games and made 10 starts behind the plate or at designated hitter…hit .238 (10-for-42) with nine RBIs, five runs scored, one double and two home runs…in Pac-10 play batted .364 (4-for-11) with four runs driven in and one homer…season highlights included a pinch-hit solo home run at Hawai’i (02/19)…drove in what proved to the game-winning run with a RBI single in the eighth as UO defeated Portland 6-4 (04/13)…was 2-for-4 with a RBI single, solo home run and two runs scored in a 7-7 tie at Seattle (05/11)…drove in two runs and scored a run in a 9-8 loss to Stanford (05/14).
SUMMER 2010
Batted .280 playing for the Kitsap Blue Jackets of the West Coast League…produced eight RBIs, two home runs and two doubles.
AS A SOPHOMORE | 2010
A back-up catcher, Eshleman appeared in 32 games including 25 starts mostly at designated hitter …batted .250 (22-for-88) on the season with 11 runs scored, eight doubles, eight RBIs and three home runs…posted a .443 slugging percentage…his season highlights included hitting a three-run homer in Oregon’s series-clinching 6-1 victory over Washington State (5/2)…was 3-for-5 in Oregon’s 7-6 victory over East Tennessee State (5/15).
AS A FRESHMAN | 2009
Appeared in 29 games as a true freshman, making 20 starts...split time behind the plate (14) and at designated hitter (6)...hit .247 on the season (19-for-77) with nine RBIs, two doubles and two home runs...improved his average in Pac-10 play, batting .283 (second amongst reserves) in 17 appearances and 11 starts...clutch at the plate, hitting .600 (6-for-10) with runners on third and less than two outs, as well as posting a .605 percentage advancing runners 26 times in 43 opportunities...at the No. 5 spot in the order hit .308...hit his first home run in a 3-0 victory over Nevada (3/14)... his second home run of the season was a two-run shot in a loss to Portland (4/19)...in a 6-4 non-conference victory over Washington was 1-for-3 with a double and run scored (3/21)...his longest hitting streak of the year spanned four games from March 29 - April 5.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2008 graduate of Redlands East Valley High School (Calif.)...played four seasons of baseball for head coach Steve Hernandez...a catcher, hit .329 his senior season for the Wildcats, winning back-to-back Citrus Belt League championships in 2007 and 2008.
