2005
Team captain (along with Katie Abrahamson) is the most experienced player on the squad. Tied for ninth on the UO list with 56 career starts. With 57 career games played coming into 2005, could tie or break the Oregon career record for both matches played (76 -- held by Allyssa White) and started (75 -- held by Chalisa Baysa, Amanda Fox, Sierra Marsh and Erin Anderson). Veteran will steady a young corps of midfielders, half of whom will be new to the UO program.
2004
Played and started in all 19 games, mainly as a defensive midfielder. Converted a second half penalty kick against Arizona State that led to a 1-1 tie. Assisted on an Andrea Valadez goal in a 3-1 win against Wyoming. Took 17 shots on the season. Pac-10 all-academic honorable mention.
2003
Played all 20 games, and started 19 ? fourth-highest on the team. Ranked in the top-10 on team in shots (fourth, 26), shots on goal (fourth, 10) and points (seventh, 3). Scored first collegiate goal versus San Francisco in a 2-1 victory. Claimed assist in season-opening win over Boise State. Pac-10 all-academic honorable mention.
2002
Led Duck freshmen in starts (18) and was one of six Ducks overall to start every game. Claimed first collegiate assist on Carlie Ashcraft’s goal to put Ducks up 1-0 in a 3-1 home loss to Portland State. Added assist on Amanda Orand’s goal to tie Washington State 1-1 tie at home. Posted season-high four shots against Pacific.
High School
All-state first-team all-league and team MVP as a senior. Lettered in volleyball, soccer, track and school’s female athlete of the year in 2002. ODP District team veteran and honor roll member.
Personal
Born Cristan Miyoshi Higa on May 30, 1984, in West Covina, Calif. Parents are Clifford and Marilyn Higa. One brother and one sister, both older. Business major.
