High School
Four-year letterwinner and team captain at Meadowdale High School. A three-time all-Wesco and two-time all-area selection. Team won four straight Wesco titles (1999-02) during her career and was the 2001 district champions. Played for the Allez Northwest Nationals club team. MVP of the Newcastle Cup in England.

Born Kate Alexandra Nelson on April 6, 1985, in Denver, Colo. Parents are Don and Allison Nelson. Three brothers and one sister. Soccer playing family includes her father (UCLA), mother (Seattle Pacific) and brother Scott (Seattle U.). Major is education.
