SEATTLE – Oregon stood resolute in its final match of the 2026 season, determined not to let a tough road trip to the Midwest a week earlier carry over into Friday's match at No. 21 Washington.
Â
The Ducks did just that and more as they handed the Huskies all they could handle until an unfortunate disqualification late in the match proved to be the difference in a 2-1 loss to the home team at Husky Soccer Stadium.
Â
"We showed a deep belief in each other tonight," said coach Tracy Joyner. "We played with heart, passion, and a commitment to our teammates and the fight I know we have."
Â
Oregon fell behind 1-0 in the first half and then Ellie Felt missed a penalty kick that would have tied the match. But less than two minutes later, Felt delivered a strike that tied the match at 1-1 in the 37th minute.
Â
Things stayed that way until the 66th minute when Savannah Holley was issued a red card for dangerous play. Holly unintentionally made contact with the head of a Husky player who had run up behind her while Holley was trying to corral the ball out of the air with her foot.
Â
The Ducks held serve for 10 minutes following the red card as Washington went on the attack. The Huskies took advantage of the player advantage to score the game-winner in the 77th minute.

Â
How It Happened: Oregon goalkeeper Kailey Kimball made the first of her season-high eight saves just three minutes into the match. Cloe Chase then fired a shot on frame for the Ducks that was saved by Washington.
Â
The Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute on Andrea Leyva's first goal of the night.
Â
Kimball made three more saves in the 11 minutes following Leyva's goal to keep it a one-score game.
Â
Oregon received a terrific opportunity in the 35th minute when a video review found that Miya Alamares was fouled in the penalty box. Felt stepped up for the penalty kick, but the shot was saved by Washington's Tanner Ijams.
Â
Unphased, Felt tied the match two minutes later. The Ducks cycled the ball into the box from the right side. A Washington defender attempted to clear the ball but instead it ricocheted out to Felt. From just outside the penalty box, Felt smashed a low-line drive that deflected off a Husky player's foot and into the top of the net.
Â
The teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.
Â
In the second half, possession between the two teams was even until the Holley red card after which, the Huskies attempted eight shots, including Leyva's go-ahead goal in the 77th minute.
Â
Felt had one final chance for a tie in the 87th minute, but her strike from distance went just over the crossbar.
Â
"Despite the result, we closed out season with a strong final performance and a put a product on the field we are proud of," said Joyner.
Â
Significant Progress In Year Two Under Tracy Joyner
Despite Friday's loss, the Ducks showed significant improvement during coach Tracy Joyner's second year at the helm.
Â
Oregon doubled its win total from a year ago, going from three to six. With 23 goals, the Ducks also posted the team's best offensive output since 2021 (29 goals). Oregon's assists (19) and points (63) were also the program's best in five years.
Â
One of Oregon's most impressive accomplishments was its ability to put shots on goal. With 3-of-6 shots on target Friday night, the Ducks finished the season with a Big Ten-best .483 shooting percentage. That was the third-best effort in program history, trailing only 2004 (.571) and 2021 (.484).
Â
Additionally, the Ducks went undefeated in nonconference play (5-0-1) for just the second time since 1981. Included in that was the Ducks' 6-0 win over Oregon State on Aug. 27. It was the most goals scored and the largest margin of victory in the 30-game history of the rivalry.
Â
The Ducks also set records at the box office, averaging 770 fans per game to break the previous per game mark of 762 in 2006. Oregon's overall attendance, 6,938, was the fourth-highest in program history.

Â
Breakout Season For Carly Cormack
Junior midfielder Carly Cormack had her best season yet in an Oregon uniform. She tied with Felt for the team lead in goals (5) and paced the squad in assists (4) and points (14). Felt led the team in shots (39), while junior midfielder Logan Russo paced the squad in shooting accuracy, firing on-target on 15-of-16 shots (.933).
Â
Top Freshmen
Oregon's younger players also had moments in the spotlight. Defender Kylie Farmer was named to TopDrawerSoccer's Midseason Top 100 Freshmen list. Farmer was also one of two Ducks named Big Ten Freshman of the Week this season.
Â
Farmer was honored on Oct. 13 after helping Oregon come from two goals down to tie Iowa 3-3 with a goal and an assist in the final 10 minutes. Shiloh Baird was named Freshman of the Week Aug. 18 after becoming just the third freshman in program history to score a goal in Oregon's first two games of the season.
Â
Freshman Giselle Fuentes Gonzalez joined Farmer on a youthful back line that also included sophomore Mia Alamares and senior Taylor Dever. Alamares, Dever and Farmer started all 18 matches for the Ducks along with Cormack and junior Cloe Chase. Farmer led the team in minutes played (1,557) with Dever (1,553) and Alamares (1,550) right behind.
Â
Freshman forward Giselle White was called up to Argentina's U20 National Team for the 2020 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in September. She helped Argentina advance to the round of 16.
Â
Notable: Friday was the last game in an Oregon uniform for sixth-year player Cailin Bloom and fifth-years Kailey Kimball, Ella Osmussen and Dever. Another graduating senior, Lauren Kenny, will return for a fifth season in the fall of 2027 … Looking forward, the Ducks are projected to return nine starters as well as every player who scored a goal or had an assist in 2026 other than Bloom (1G, 1A) … Among those nine starters is goalkeeper Gray Willson, whose 1.13 season goals against ranked seventh in program history … The Ducks finished the season at 6-9-3 overall and 1-9-2 in the Big Ten Conference.
