Bio
PERSONAL — Born Parris Edward Moore on Aug. 14, 1984 in Tustin, Calif. Parents: Parris Moore and Pacentia Dunning. Family: One sister. High School (Coach): Fountain Valley (Eric Johnson) 2002. Major: Political Science. Redshirt: 2002.
HIGH SCHOOL — The all-league pick lauded as one of the top 100 prep prospects in the Far West region by SuperPrep magazine, accumulating 70 unassisted tackles and five tackles for loss his senior year. Also deflected four passes and posted one interception on the defensive side of the ball in addition to rushing for 610 yards and five touchdowns on offense.
OREGON — While it may have taken a little longer than anticipated, has finally began to eliminate some of his mistakes that hampered his progress in the past. Spring injuries to some of those ahead of him on the depth chart allowed him to gain more repetitions, which accelerated his grasp of the defense. Benefitted from an added confidence and discipline during the off-season to keep him in the mix and improve a consistency that was missing in previous seasons. Provides quality depth at the rover position as well as vying to become a factor on special teams. Second among defensive backs in vertical leap (31.5”) as well as bench press (320 lbs.) during winter testing. Also third-fastest 40 time in the secondary (4.65). The early portion of fall camp will be vital in determining his precise role in a secondary not lacking for candidates.
2005 — Recorded one assist on special teams while making appearances in all 12 games, including a season-high 10 snaps vs. Montana.
2004 — Credited with one assisted tackle vs. Idaho while making appearances in all 11 games. Took part in 12 snaps vs. Washington State and Oregon State plus 10 against Indiana.
2003 — Play was limited while he continued to learn the intricacies of the scheme. Eventually made his way onto the field in the Sun Bowl against Minnesota, finishing with one tackle.
2002 — Was recognized for his special team scout preparation leading up the Idaho and UCLA games and was the defensive scout team player of the week prior to USC game.
