2006: Tall goalkeeper will backup Jessie Chatfield. May be pressed into duty as the No. 2 keeper as senior Emily Marrer recovers from a spring shoulder injury.
High School: Led Pinnacle High School to three straight state championship games. As a senior in 2005, was a first team all-state and all-region selection. The team captain and defensive MVP slso earned Northeast Arizona player of the year honors. Recorded an Arizona state record 17 shutouts in 2004. Second team all-state and first team all-region selection. 2003-04 scholar-athlete of the year. Club team, Sereno 88 White, won six straight state championships and was a national finalist in 2003. Club team also won 2004 and 2005 Surf Cup championship. Was named goalkeeper MVP of the 2004 Surf Cup. A National Honors Society member, and also a member of the Society of Women’s Scholars.
Personal: Born Emily D. Zaler on Jan. 6, 1988, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Mother is Nancy Saulson. One older brother. Hobbies are shopping and cooking. Major is undecided.
