Duck javelin record holder since her freshman season, she raised it again in her third outdoor junior season contest in the 2004 Texas Relays (179-7) - and stands 10 feet ahead of #2-ranked All-America teammate Elisa Crumley and her mark from 2002. One of three Duck All-America returnees in javelin with juniors Crumley (169-7 PR) and Roslyn Lundeen (166-11 PR). Among collegiate returnees in 2005, stands first in the Pac-10, region and NCAA based on 2004 season bests. Ended 2004 ranked sixth in U.S. and 95th in world. Is a one-time Olympic Trials runner-up, two-time All-American, three-time NCAA qualifier, three-time Pac-10 runner-up and four-time USA Championships qualifier heading into her senior season.
2003-2004: All-American (Javelin). Returned from injury in 2002-2003 to re-establish herself as one of the elite javelin throwers in the country, and finished second in the U.S. Olympic Trials (177-11). After the U.S. finale, fell shy in attempts to secure the Olympic A (203-10) and B (194-7) qualifying standards in area all-comers meets in July. Under the tutelage of first-year women’s throws coach Lance Deal, she capped the collegiate season with her second All-America award in the NCAA Championships (third, 178-1) thanks to her second-longest heave of the season. Two weeks before, she claimed her sixth win of the season in the West Regional Championships by more than six feet (first, 173-10) against a field that included two other top-four NCAA placers and another pair of All-Americans from ?04. Claimed her third Pac-10 runner-up finish (171-5) and trailed only a three-time NCAA runner-up. In regular season competition, she was undefeated with five wins, including a head-to-head victory vs. U.S. record holder Kim Kreiner in the Texas Relays (school record 179-7) - a mark that led the collegiate list. Opened season with win in Oregon Preview (175-7) in her first competition since the 2002-2003 season. Two weeks later, re-wrote her school record in the Texas Relays (first, 179-7). In final regular season stretch, claimed wins in the Pepsi Invite (167-10) and the Oregon Invitational (174-5). At regular season’s end, ranked second in the Pac-10 and region behind the eventual NCAA runner-up and third in the NCAA. 2002-03: Redshirted. Did not compete due to various injuries.
2001-02: NCAA Qualifier (Javelin). Took 14th in second NCAA appearance (155-4), missing All-America honors by one place and eight inches. Finished second in Pac-10 javelin for second straight season (171-9) with her second-best mark of the year and trailed only the eventual NCAA runner-up. Ranked third among collegians and sixth overall in USA Championships (163-5) in season finale at Stanford. At season's end, led the nation's top javelin squad with her personal best and school record in the Texas Relays (first, 179-2, 54.61m). Claimed four other wins during year, and altogether in her 10 appearances, eclipsed the 170-foot line in four meets and the 160-foot line in eight stops. Ended year ranked fourth among collegians based on season bests. Personal/Seasonal Bests: Javelin - 54.61m (179-2) (then-PR), Texas Relays, Austin, Texas (4/6/02).
2000-01: All-American. Capped strong debut season with appearances in the Pac-10 (second, 167-1), NCAA (seventh, 164-9) and U.S. Championships (sixth, 156-6). Broke school javelin record twice during season with marks from Oregon Invitational (first, 169-3) and Oregon Twilight (first, 174-0). During regular season, won five of seven contests - also including Oregon Preview (155-3), Willamette Invite (165-1), Washington Dual (158-0) - and was above 160 feet in four of last six meets. Was defeated by a collegian only once in regular season leading up to Pac-10 Championships. Named Pac-10 Athlete of the Week after her Oregon Twilight effort (first, school record 174-0) - an NCAA automatic mark that moved her to second nationally that week. Ended season ranked eighth nationally in javelin among Americans and third among American collegians. Personal/Seasonal Bests: Javelin - 53.04m (174-0) (then-PR), Pac-10 Championships, Berkeley, Calif. (5/12/01).
Prep: Closed All-America senior season finishing eighth in first of two qualifying flights in the 2000 Olympic Trials in Sacramento (156-11, 47.84m). As a senior, ranked third nationally among prepsters in the javelin and 38th among all Americans. Capped state prep career with first 4A title (165-10) as a senior, after runner-up honors in 1999 (160-3) and 1998 (146-3), and a ninth-place finish as a freshman. Finished career ranked second on school all-time list behind former Duck Lynda Hughes (178-4), third on state 4A list and fourth on combined list (including former Duck and 3A list leader Paula Berry). As a junior ranked third among prepsters and was an All-American, and took third in U.S. Junior Championships (152-1). During summer circuit, claimed Junior Olympic titles in 1998 and 1999. Yearly javelin progression follows ? So. (152-5) - Jr. (165-5) - Sr. (172-0). High School: Newberg '00 (Joe Boutin).
