2010 indoor All-American (4x400 relay) and Pac-10 scorer (4x100 relay) gained a wealth of experience as Oregon’s top rookie sprinter in 2009. State of Colorado sprint champion adds to Oregon’s impressive collection of young speedsters.
2010-11: Outdoors - Runner-up finish in the 400 meters at UCLA (48.72) helped Oregon comeback to tie the Bruins. Saw action in the 200 meters at the Oregon Preview (22.39) and Pepsi Team Invitational (22.38). Also ran on the winning 4x100 meter relay team (41.04) at the Preview. Pac-10 all-academic second team. Indoors - Season debut in the 200 at the UW Indoor Preview. Also ran that distance, the 400 meters and the 4x400 meter relay (3:13.51) at the UW Invitational. Ran 22.34 in the 200 at the Husky Classic, where he was also in the 400 meters. Had the second leg on the MPSF champion 4x400 meter relay team (3:10.34). Also ran the 200 and 400 meters at the league meet. Season Bests: Outdoors - 200 Meters - 22.38, Pepsi Team Invitational, Eugene, Ore. (4/9/11); 400 Meters - 48.72, UCLA Dual, Los Angeles, Calif. (4/17/11). Indoors - 200 Meters - 22.28, MPSF Championships, Seattle, Wash. (2/25/11).
2009-10: Outdoors - Won the 200 meters at the Oregon Twilight (21.87). Ran the lead leg on the winning 4x400 meter relay team in the UCLA dual meet (3:10.94). Also scored a team point with a third-place finish in the 400 (48.64) versus the Bruins. Ran a season-best 21.73 (plus 2.4) 200 meters at the Stanford Invitational. Took second in the 200 at the Oregon Preview in 22.00. Pac-10 all-academic second team. Indoors - All-American (4x400 relay). Helped Oregon to a surprising sixth-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay (3:08.42) by running the lead leg at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Oregon's top 200 meter runner indoors. Ran lead leg on the Ducks' top 4x400 relay team that clocked 3:07.61 (fifth all-time at Oregon) at the MPSF Championships and finished second. Also ran on the seventh place distance medley relay team at the MPSF meet (9:53.68). Helped Oregon run an NCAA provisional time in the 4x400 meter relay, 3:08.66, at the Feb. 13 Tyson Invitational. Also ran an indoor personal best 21.96 in the 200 meters at that meet. Season Bests: Outdoors - 200 Meters - 21.73w, Stanford Invitational, Stanford, Calif. (3/27/10). Indoors - 200 Meters - 21.96 (PR), Tyson Invitational, Fayetteville, Ark. (2/13/10).
2008-09: Pac-10 scorer for the three-time league champions on the 4x100 meter relay team. Also ran the 200 meters at the league meet. The team’s top performer at 200 meters. Saw action in three indoor meets, running a season-best in the 200 (22.16) at the MPSF Championships. Outdoors, set a seasonal best, 21.82, in the 200 in a wind-aided effort during the UCLA dual meet. Won that event at the Oregon Twilight (22.13). Ran third leg of Oregon’s seventh-place Pac-10 4x100 meter relay team (41.23). That squad clocked a season-best 40.65 in the preliminary round. Season Bests: Outdoors - 200 Meters - 21.82 (w), Oregon-UCLA Dual, Eugene, Ore. (4/18/09). Indoors - 200 Meters - 22.16, MPSF Championships, Seattle, Wash. (2/27/09).
Prep: Broke the Colorado boys 400-meter state record while capturing the 2007 4A title in 47.01. Scored points in the 400 all four years, helping Longmont win the state championship as a senior in 2008. Won back-to-back state titles in the 200 in 2007 (21.55) and 2008 (personal-best 21.28). Was third in the 100 as a junior. High School Bests: 100 Meters - 10.72; 200 Meters - 21.28; 400 Meters - 47.01.
