Bio
PERSONAL — Born Christopher G. Mulvanny on Jan. 1, 1985 in Walnut Creek, Calif. Parent: Leslie Mulvanny. One brother, one sister. High School (Coach): De La Salle (Bob Ladouceur) 2003. Junior College (Coach): Diablo Valley (Ralph Depew) 2005. Major: Psychology.
JUNIOR COLLEGE — The two-year standout was accorded first-team all-Golden Gate Conference acclaim as a JC freshman before earning all-California Region II first-team honors a year ago. Rated among the top 120 junior college prospects in the country by College Football News in 2004, accumulated 28 quarterback sacks as a linebacker and defensive end the last two seasons for the Vikings.
OREGON — Displayed impressive toughness as well as a strong work ethic while continuing to make the transition to the Division I level. Improved his understanding of the defense during his second spring, which has put himself in position to make the play, yet in need of completing the final step and making the tackle. Now that he has acquired a taste of the next level, it is hoped his progression can result into more playing time. Improved all facets of strength testing during ‘06 off-season, sharing linebackers’ second-best power clean mark (308 lbs.) and possessing third-best squat pinnacle (440 lbs.). Posted two tackles in last spring’s final scrimmage, including one for loss of one yard. It’s imperative that he jumps out to a fast start in the fall if he’s to become a factor in early-season rotation.
2005 — Experience limited to season’s first two games, stepping onto the field for 10 plays in the season opener at Houston and recording his lone tackle vs. Montana.
