Bay Area Trip Up Next For Ducks

Following a successful opening weekend, Oregon travels to the Bay Area to face Santa Clara Thursday (7:30 p.m.) and San Francisco Sunday (12 p.m.). Both matches will be live streamed on ESPN+.

• Oregon welcomed 18 newcomers to the team for the fall - 11 freshmen and 7 transfers.

DUCKS OPENS SEASON WITH BACK-TO-BACK 3-0 WINS
The second season of the Tracy Joyner era got underway with a pair of back-to-back wins. Oregon defeated Portland State 3-0 on Aug. 13 and Gonzaga 3-0 on Aug. 16. The Ducks scored three goals during a 10-minute span in the second half to beat Portland State in the season opener for both teams. Carly Cormack scored the Ducks' first two goals, while freshman Shiloh Baird found the net for the first time in an Oregon uniform to cap the scoring. Baird assisted on Cormack's goal in the 55th minute, while Abella Hunter set Cormack up for her second score four minutes later. It was Cormack's second career two-goal game. Baird put an exclamation point on the night with a skillful goal in the 65th minute. Cormack took possession on a 50-50 ball in the air near midfield and then slipped a short pass to Maddie Sharrer. Sharrer then angled a pass up the left side and Baird carried it down the sideline before turning towards the net and lifting the ball over PSU's goalkeeper and into a tight window in the upper right corner of the net. With an assist to go along with the two goals, Cormack set a career-high with a five-point match. She is the first Duck with a five-point match since Eden Hardy in 2021. Baird, Lauren Hunter and Abella Hunter found the net against Gonzaga. Lauren Hunter scored on a free kick just outside the box in the 39th minute. Baird scored her second goal in as many games just after halftime for a 2-0 lead. Cormack earned her second assist on the week on Baird's goal. Abella Hunter then picked up a loose ball deep in Gonzaga's end in the 57th minute and scored her first goal as a Duck.

BAIRD, DEVER EARN BIG TEN HONORS

Baird became just the third freshman in program history to score a goal in Oregon's first two games of the season. She had two goals and an assist on the week. Dever was the only Duck to play in all 180 minutes and anchored a defensive line that posted two shutouts. Oregon didn't allow a shot on goal in the win at Portland State and limited the Bulldogs to just four shots on goal. Dever attempted one shot in each game. This is the first weekly honors for both players. Baird is the first Duck to win freshman of the week honors. Dever is the second Duck to pick up defensive honors, joining teammate Lauren Kenny, who earned defensive player of the week honors after scoring the game-winner in the Ducks' 2-1 win against No. 8 Washington in the 2025 season finale.

BAIRD JOINS ELITE CLUB
Shiloh Baird became just the third freshman in program history to score a goal in Oregon's first two games of the season. She is the first Duck to accomplish that feat in 28 years and joins Chalise Baysa (1998) and UO Hall of Famer Michele Potestio (1980) in that exclusive club.

WHITE CALLED UP
Freshman forward Giselle White has been called up to Argentina's U20 National Team. White is currently in Argentina's team training camp in preparation for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, which begins Sept. 5 in Poland. Argentina's final roster for the World Cup will be announced later this month.

BIG TEN PRESEASON HONORS
Carly Cormack, Ellie Felt and Lauren Kenny were named to the 2026 Big Ten Preseason Watch List.

JOYNERS UNIQUE AS NCAA DI HEAD COACHES
Coach Tracy Joyner and her husband Justin Joyner are both head coaches at the NCAA Division I level. They are the only husband-and-wife team that are head coaches at two different DI universities. Justin Joyner is in his first season as Oregon State's men's basketball coach after helping lead Michigan to the 2026 NCAA title as an assistant coach.
