Ducks Will Look for Road Trip Split Sunday
09/25/25 | Women's Soccer
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Oregon allowed an early goal to Purdue, but battled for the tying goal for the next 80 minutes before surrendering a pair of late goals in a 3-0 loss to the Boilermakers Thursday at Folk Field.
The Ducks will now look to split the weekend trip Sunday when they visit Indiana.
How It Happened: In the opening minutes of the match, Purdue's Angelina Thoreson forced a turnover and took the ball down the field before burying a shot into the left side of the net.
Oregon's defense stiffened after that. Selah Simms broke up a potential one-on-one situation with a tackle deep in the box in the 32nd minute.
Minutes later, goalkeeper Caeley Goldstein stretched to reach a Boilermaker shot from the right side and just got a finger to it to prevent Purdue's second goal of the night. Goldstein made four saves in the opening period and finished with seven for the game.
The Ducks (2-7-2, 0-2-1) trailed 1-0 at the break.
Three of Oregon's five shots came after halftime with Ella Osmussen, Addisen Boyer and Jayde Holley getting off one attempt a piece.
The Boilermakers (5-5-2, 2-2-0) scored twice in the final five minutes.
Notable: Goldstein matched her season high with seven saves … Despite allowing a season-high three goals Thursday, Oregon has still given up seven fewer goals than at the same point last season (12 versus 19).
Up Next: Oregon faces Indiana Sunday at 10 a.m. PT in Bloomington (B1G+).
