Ducks Close Out Home Slate with UW, WSU

The Ducks host their last home games of the season Thursday against Washington (7 p.m., Pac-12 Network) and Sunday versus Washington State (1 p.m., Pac-12 Live Stream). Oregon will honor senior Jordan Snyder on Sunday.
• Oregon has played the most difficult schedule in the nation, according to this week's NCAA RPI report.
• Maddy Goldberg tied the school single-game record by making 15 saves last Sunday at No. 5 Stanford. She nearly doubled her previous career high of eight, set earlier this season at Missouri State. She leads the Pac-12 with 75 saves.
• Ajanae Respass scored the game-winner last season against Washington (off a Kaitlyn Paculba assist), while Trinity Morales had the Ducks' goal in a 1-1 tie at Washington State.
• The Ducks are one of the youngest teams in the nation. Oregon's 29-player roster features 15 freshmen (10 true freshman, 5 RS-freshmen), 9 sophomores, 4 juniors, no seniors and 1 fifth-year player.
• Among major conference schools, Oregon's 15 freshmen trails only Pittsburgh for the most on its 2023 roster. The Panthers have 16 freshmen, one ahead of the Ducks. Among all conferences, Jacksonville has 21 freshmen while Hampton has 18.
• Oregon's freshmen have accounted for 62.5 percent of the team's shots (80-of-128) and have made nearly half of the team's starts (81-of-176; 46.0 percent). The Ducks have started five or more freshmen 11 times this season with a high of seven Aug. 27 at Missouri State. Duck freshmen have also registered four goals and five assists.
Three freshmen - Cameron Bourne, Kristen Conti and Mia McSweeney - have started all 14 games this season.
• Half of the Ducks' starting back line from a year ago is now playing professionally in the NWSL. Croix Soto is playing with the Kansas City Current, while Chai Cortez is with the San Diego Wave.
GOLDBERG TIES SAVES RECORD
Sophomore Maddy Goldberg tied the Oregon single-game record with 15 saves Oct. 22 at No. 5 Stanford. She made seven saves in the first half and eight in the second to surpass her previous single-game high of eight, set earlier this season against Missouri State. It was the most saves by a Duck goalkeeper in 20 years. Goldberg tied the record held by Sarah Peters (Washington, 2001) and Domenique Lainez (Texas A&M, 2003).
GOLDBERG LEADS CONFERENCE IN SAVES
Maddy Goldberg leads the Pac-12 in saves (75) and saves per game (6.25). She is 11th nationally in saves per game. She made eight saves to earn her first career shutout as Oregon and Missouri State played to a 0-0 tie Aug. 27 in Springfield, Mo.
GOLDBERG ENTERS TOP 10 IN CAREER SAVES
Oct. 5 at USC, Maddy Goldberg passed Lindsay Parlee (63, 2010-11) for 10th in UO career saves and now shows 88. She is 11 saves behind Katelyn Carter (97, 2016-19) for ninth. Goldberg has made at least five saves in all but one game she has played this season. After appearing in three games in 2021, Goldberg redshirted the 2022 season behind Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year Leah Freeman.
FRESHMEN SET PACE AGAINST ARIZONA STATE
Oregon's freshmen class attempted 10 of 12 shots Oct. 13 versus Arizona State. Cameron Bourne had a career high four shots against the Sun Devils, while Ryann Reynolds attempted three, also a career high.
FRESHMEN TAKE CENTER STAGE VS. COLORADO & UTAH
Oregon's freshmen class had a big weekend against Colorado and Utah. Freshmen accounted for two goals, three assists, 18 shots and 18 saves versus the mountain schools. Kristen Conti scored her first career goal against Colorado, while Livvy Moore attempted a career-high three shots. The rookies continued to shine three days later against Utah. Ryann Reynolds, Mia McSweeney and Cameron Bourne all got their first career assists, while Lauren Kenny checked in with her first career goal. Another freshman, Grace Mensah, led the Ducks with four shots against the Buffaloes. In goal, freshman Leah Parsons got her first two career starts and made 11 saves against Colorado, which is tied for 10th on the UO single-game top 10.
