Crownover Named B1G Setter of the Week

EUGENE, Ore. — Marina Crownover is the Big Ten Setter of the Week as announced Monday afternoon by the league office. The fifth-year setter averaged 10.91 assists per set and 4.09 digs per set as Oregon posted a 3-0 record over the past six days including a pair of wins at Matthew Knight Arena.
The Ducks are up one spot to No. 24 in this week's AVCA coaches poll.
Crownover dished out a season-high 48 assists—.339 team hitting percentage—to go along with 11 digs, two aces and two blocks in a four-set win at Missouri during the Allstate Big Ten/SEC Challenge. She had 27 assists, eight digs and three service aces while directing the Ducks to a .277 efficiency in a straight-set home win over Long Island.
The fifth-year setter capped the week with 45 assists and a career-high 26 digs in Sunday's four-set win against Washington State. Crownover also tied her career high with six kills. The Ducks finished the WSU match with 90 digs, the most by an Oregon team since 2021.
All five of Oregon's primary attackers tallied at least 20 kills during the week: Valentina Vaulet (37 kills), Alanah Clemente (36), Laura Eichert (35), Dalia Virlan (24) and Iva Sucurovic (20).
With Monday's release, Crownover becomes the program's first Big Ten Setter of the Week.
Oregon (5-0) is next headed to Tempe, Ariz., for the Snyder-Park Classic (Sept. 11-13) to face a field that also includes No. 7 Arizona State, San Diego and UC Davis. The Ducks return to their home floor Sept. 17 to face Portland State followed by a Sept. 20 matchup with Oregon State.
