Box Score Allstate Big Ten/SEC Challenge

Oregon hit .339 to close out its opening-season road trip.

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Powered by a pair of double-double performances and a career milestone, the No. 25 Oregon volleyball team capped its season-opening road trip Tuesday evening with a four-set victory (16-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-19) over Missouri. The Ducks' balanced attack produced a .339 efficiency with three players with double-digit kills.

Fifth-year setter Marina Crownover dished out 48 assists to go along with 11 digs, two service aces and two blocks. Freshman outside hitter Laura Eichert, in her first start at outside, tallied the first double-double of her career with 15 kills and 13 digs. The Lake Stevens, Wash., native hit .462 and added three blocks to her stat line.

With her 10^th kill of the match, senior Valentina Vaulet reached 1,000 career kills between her time at Michigan (2023-24) and Oregon. She finished the night with a match-high 16 kills (.323) and two aces.

Alanah Clemente was the third Ducks in double figures with 13 kills while hitting .379 coupled with five blocks, three digs and a block. Middle blockers Iva Sucurovic and Dalia Virlan each put down six kills and combined for 10 blocks. Sophomore libero Reese Sheppard had 10 digs against the Tigers.

How It Happened: The first two sets were near mirror images of one another with both teams using 7-0 runs early in the frames to pull away. For Missouri (3-1), the push turned an 11-all tie into an 18-11 lead in the opener. The Ducks went on a seven-point surge in the second to go from tied at 6-6 to leading 13-6.

After hitting just .185 in the first set, Oregon reversed its fortunes with a .464 mark in the second to pull even on the match scoreboard.

Neither team led by more than three points in the third set until the Ducks rattled off four in a row for a 24-18 advantage. Oregon got kills from Virlan, Clemente and Eichert during the quick rush. Mizzou saved two set points but on their third opportunity, the Ducks went to Clemente for the final kill and a 2-1 lead in the match.

The home team won the first two points of the fourth set but Oregon won six of the next seven points to go ahead for good. Vaulet found the floor for an 18-15 lead to force a Missouri timeout. Following a solo block by Virlan and ace by Crownover, the lead was 21-17, and the Ducks went on to score the last three points of the night including a Crownover-Sucurovic tandem block to set up match point.

Oregon hit .406 with just two attack errors in the decisive fourth frame.

Notable: Crownover played the previous two seasons (2024-25) at Missouri … team has hit at least .300 in each match so far this season … Vaulet now has 415 kills in her 33-match Orgon career … Missouri had three aces in the first set; none in the final three sets … Big Ten won five of nine matches on the first day of the Allstate Big Ten/SEC Challenge (Oregon, Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, Rutgers).

Up Next: The Ducks host Long Island and Washington State at Matthew Knight Arena beginning Friday. Oregon will play LIU in Friday's home opener (6 p.m., B1G+) followed by a Sunday matchup against the Cougars. That match will be televised on the Big Ten Network at 12 p.m.
