NFL #ProDucks: Week 1

Many former Ducks made big plays on both sides of the ball in the NFL's opening weekend. From performances by veterans like Christian Gonzales, Justin Herbert, Penei Sewell, Jevon Holland, and Deforest Buckner, to newcomers like Kenyon Sadiq and Dillon Thieneman making big impacts in their professional debuts.

Several former Ducks found the end zone, created turnovers, and competed in the trenches. Here's a look at how our #ProDucks performed in week one.

Kansas City Chiefs 31, Denver Broncos 10
Bo Nix completed 17-of-28 passes, finishing with 131 yards and a touchdown. Troy Franklin finished with one carry for five yards.

Jeffrey Bassa recorded one tackle, and Jadon Canady played 11 special teams' snaps for the Chiefs.

Arizona Cardinals 26, Los Angeles Chargers 14
Justin Herbert went 17-for-27 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown. He added 29 yards on the ground on five carries.

Jamaree Caldwell finished the matchup with four tackles, a quarterback hit, and a quarterback hurry. Troy Dye added a sack to go along with three tackles for the Chargers.

Jordan Burch tallied a sack, three quarterback hurries, and two tackles en route to a Cardinals week one win.

Detroit Lions 31, New Orleans Saints 30
Penei Sewell led the Lions to a win over the Saints in an overtime thriller as the team captain. Sewell played 77 offensive snaps, allowing no quarterback hits and posting an overall grade of 73.4 and a run blocking grade of 85.9, according to Pro Football Focus.

Juwan Johnson finished with a touchdown and 54 yards receiving on three receptions for the Saints.

San Francisco 49ers 27, Los Angeles Rams 7
The Rams and 49ers traveled to Melbourne to compete in the NFL's first-ever regular season game in Australia in front of a sold-out crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Two former Ducks took the field in Melbourne. Deommodore Lenoir led the 49ers to a win as a team captain. Lenoir finished with six tackles.

Terrance Ferguson took the field on 15 snaps for the Rams, being targeted once.

Seattle Seahawks 13, New England Patriots 10
Christian Gonzalez, fresh off becoming the league's highest paid cornerback, put on a big-time performance for New England in the NFL opener. Gonzalez tallied two pass break ups, allowing a passer rating of 39.6 when targeted. Gonzalez also posted an overall grade of 87.3, fourth among cornerbacks through week one, according to Pro Football Focus.

New York Giants 28, Dallas Cowboys 20
The New Yorks Giants came out on top on a Sunday Night Football matchup against a division rival. Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jevon Holland took the field for the Giants. Holland's night was highlighted by a huge knee drag interception with 49 seconds left in the second quarter. Thibodeaux was credited with the quarterback pressure on the throw leading to Holland's interception. The Giants were able to score a touchdown to take the lead in the game before the half thanks to the former Duck tandem. Holland also added two tackles, and a pass defended.

Thibodeaux racked up two tackles and played key defensive snaps for the Giants.

T.J. Bass played 58 snaps at left guard for the Cowboys, finishing with an overall grade of 54.4, according to Pro Football Focus.

Pittsburgh Steelers 20, Atlanta Falcons 13
Derrick Harmon took the field on 24 snaps in Sunday's matchup, finishing with three tackles and recording an overall grade of 54.8, according to Pro Football Focus.

Brandon Dorlus racked up three tackles against the Steelers, including three quarterback pressures.

Jacksonville Jaguars 34, Cleveland Browns 10
Arik Armstead recorded one solo tackle, a quarterback hurry, and a quarterback pressure on 29 snaps for the Jaguars.

Emmanuel Pregnon, the Jaguars' third-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, made his debut starting at left guard and recorded a 60.1 overall grade across 57 offensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

New York Jets 23, Tennessee Titans 10
Kenyon Sadiq, the 16th overall pick in the NFL Draft, made his debut for the New Yorks Jets. Sadiq finished with a three-yard rushing touchdown, the first of his career, to go along with three receptions for 21 yards.

Baltimore Ravens 41, Indianapolis Colts 23
Two former Ducks took the field for the Colts. Team captain, DeForest Buckner, finished with a sack, a fumble recovery, and five total pressures.

Bryce Boettcher, the Colts fourth-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, racked up seven tackles in his professional debut.

Las Vegas Raiders 27, Miami Dolphins 13
Jackson Powers-Johnson played 68 offensive snaps for the Raiders at right guard. Powers-Johnson recorded a pass blocking grade of 75.9, allowing no sacks or pressures, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Raiders sixth-round selection in the NFL Draft, Malik Benson, made his NFL debut, finishing with one reception for six yards. Benson also recorded one carry.

Cincinnati Bengals 33, Tamba Bay Buccaneers 27
Bucky Irving led the Buccaneers rushing attack, finishing with a touchdown and a team-high 45 yards on eight carries. Irving was also a huge threat through the air, catching seven passes for 48 yards.

Tez Johnson also played for the Buccaneers.

Chicago Bears 59, Carolina Panthers 37
Dillon Thieneman, the 25th overall pick in the NFL Draft, started at safety in his debut for the Bears, finishing with seven tackles and a quarterback pressure through 68 snaps played.

Philadelphia Eagles 24, Washington Commanders 22
Josh Conerly Jr. recorded an overall grade of 66.1, including a pass blocking grade of 75.9 on 70 snaps at right tackle, according to Pro Football Focus.

Johnny Mundt was targeted one time for the Eagles.

Minnesota Vikings 39, Green Bay Packers 22
Evan Williams tallied six tackles across 65 snaps for the Green Bay defense.
