Back Home, Bounce Back
Oregon returns home for Week 3 and will face a short week as the Ducks aim to bounce back from their first loss of the season and first road loss since 2023. The No. 21 Ducks will host Portland State on Friday night in Autzen Stadium, their final nonconference matchup before opening Big Ten play next week at USC. Oregon is 6-0 all-time against Portland State, having set the modern-day program record for points with 81 against the Vikings in the 2023 season opener at Autzen Stadium. The Ducks will also put the nation's longest active nonconference home winning streak on the line at 39 games.

Last Week In Stillwater
Oregon fell short in its Week 2 matchup at Oklahoma State last Saturday, suffering a 39-31 loss to the Cowboys. The loss snapped the nation's longest active road winning streak at 12 games and was just the third road loss under Lanning. A 96-yard pick six by ILB Devon Jackson helped UO take a 7-3 lead through the first quarter, but OSU scored 21 points in the second to go up 24-17 at halftime. QB Dante Moore threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to WR Evan Stewart to give Oregon a 31-30 lead on the first play of the fourth quarter, but Oklahoma State took the lead with a touchdown and made it an eight-point game with a field goal with 3:11 remaining. A fumble with just under two minutes remaining was recovered by the Cowboys to end the Ducks' comeback attempt.

Last Meeting vs. Portland State
Oregon made history the last time it faced off with Portland State. The Ducks opened the 2023 season with an 81-7 win over the Vikings in Autzen Stadium, the fourth-largest margin of victory in program history and the largest since a 97-point win over Willamette in 1916. The Ducks set the modern-day program scoring record and the Autzen Stadium scoring record, becoming the first FBS team since 2015 to eclipse 80 points in a game. Now three years later, Oregon's 81 points are the ninth-most by any FBS team in a game since 1996 and one of just 15 performances of 80-plus points in that span. Oregon scored 50 points in the first half, its most in a half since scoring 52 in the first half against Oregon State in 2017, and tied for the fourth-most in a half by UO since 1948.
