Ducks Fly South to Face UCLA, USC

UO visits UCLA Friday and USC Saturday.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team heads to Los Angeles for a pair of matches against long-time rivals in No. 18 UCLA on Friday (12 p.m.) and 12th-ranked USC on Saturday (1 p.m.).
Oregon (11-8, 2-5) comes in at No. 60 in the latest ITA rankings after a pair of narrow home losses last weekend. The Ducks fell 4-2 to No. 52 Illinois last Friday before a hard-fought 4-3 loss to Northwestern on Sunday. Including this upcoming weekend, the Ducks will have faced a ranked opponent in 12 of their last 13 matches, while winning four matches against the nation's top 75.

Through 19 dual matches, UO has compiled a 53-32 overall singles record while its doubles teams are a combined 32-14. Seven players in the Ducks' singles lineup boast winning records, including a 12-5 mark from sophomore Bridget Mihulka, a 9-5 record from junior Tilde Jagare and matching 8-5 marks from freshman Virginia Crocker and sophomore Patsy Daughters.
Jagare has played every match at the top spot in the lineup and has tallied two ranked singles victories to go with a pair of ranked doubles wins along with her partner in Olivia Symons. Jagare and Symons are 12-6 this spring while going 4-2 in Big Ten play at the top spot in the lineup.
Oregon's freshman doubles duo of Hadley Appling and Crocker are a team-best 6-2 so far this spring, playing at the third position with Hinata Furutani and Juliet Santitto going 10-3 after a ranked win against the Wildcats. The Ducks have picked up the doubles point in 15 of 19 dual matches.
The Bruins are coming off a 4-2 loss to their cross-town rival USC last weekend and have split their last four matches overall – all to ranked teams. UCLA's singles lineup features 17th-ranked Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer and No. 41 Mayu Crossley, while also boasting the nation's 29th-ranked doubles team in Olivia Center and Kate Fakih.
USC has won six of its last seven matches overall, including a 4-1 victory over then-No. 2 Ohio State on March 15. All three of the Trojans doubles teams are ranked inside the ITA's top 40, while their singles lineup contains No. 23 Jana Hossam Salah, No. 58 Emma Charney and No. 123 Eugenia Zozaya Menendez.
