Ducks, Buckeyes Clash In Columbus
Oregon will kick off November with a marquee matchup on Saturday, traveling to Columbus to take on No. 11 Ohio State. The Ducks will make their seventh trip all-time to Ohio Stadium and first since a 35-28 win over the No. 3 Buckeyes on Sept. 11, 2021. Oregon has won two of the last three meetings vs. Ohio State, winning a top-three matchup in Autzen Stadium on Oct. 12, 2024, before the Buckeyes came out ahead in the College Football Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2025, en route to the national title. Oregon is looking to build on the momentum from its win over then-No. 20 Northwestern on Halloween, the 17th against a ranked team under HC Dan Lanning and second this season for the Ducks.
A Win Would...
» Be Oregon's third all-time vs. Ohio State, all coming in the last four meetings.
» Improve UO to 21-3 in Big Ten play since joining the league, including 11-1 in conference road games.
» Be the 18th top-25 win under Lanning and third this year.
Second-Half Surge Lifts Ducks
Oregon completed a 14-point comeback against then-No. 20 Northwestern on Halloween in Autzen Stadium, overcoming a 20-6 deficit late in the first half to win, 34-26. QB Dylan Raiola hit WR Dakorien Moore for a 10-yard touchdown with 49 seconds left in the first half to cut the Wildcats' lead to 20-13, and the Ducks outscored Northwestern 21-6 in the second half behind efficient offense and stout defense. Raiola brought Oregon within 23-20 with a 17-yard touchdown pass to TE Jamari Johnson in the third quarter, and freshman RB Brandon Smith scored on a 2-yard run on fourth-and-goal early in the fourth to give Oregon its first lead, 27-23. After the defense held Northwestern to a field goal that made it a one-point game, Raiola connected with Moore on a 75-yard touchdown on the very next play to push Oregon's lead to eight. Raiola threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns, including seven passes for 128 yards and two scores to Moore, and the UO defense allowed just two field goals and 172 total yards in the second half with three sacks.
Did You Know?
WR Dakorien Moore is tied for fourth among all FBS players with 23 receptions over the last three weeks, totaling 234 yards and two touchdowns in that stretch.
History vs. Ohio State
Ohio State holds a 10-2 lead in the all-time series with Oregon, but the Ducks have had success in recent years. UO claimed its first-ever win over the Buckeyes on Sept. 11, 2021, securing one of the most significant regular-season wins in program history in front of the sixth-largest crowd (100,482) ever to watch the Ducks play. No. 12 Oregon defeated No. 3 Ohio State, 35-28, for the program's first road win over a top-five team since 2011. The No. 3 Ducks then outlasted the No. 2 Buckeyes in the first-ever top-five showdown in Autzen Stadium history on Oct. 12, 2024, winning 32-31 in front of an Autzen record 60,129 fans. The final seven scoring plays of that game resulted in lead changes, and Oregon came out on top for its highest-ranked home win of all-time. Among current Ducks who played in that game, WR Evan Stewart led the receiving efforts with seven catches for a career-high 149 yards and a touchdown, OLB Matayo Uiagalelei had five tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and a key sack that kept Ohio State out of field goal range on its final drive, ILB Devon Jackson made seven tackles and OLB Teitum Tuioti had three. Ohio State avenged that loss later that season with a 41-21 win in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2025, and the Buckeyes were victorious over the Ducks in the inaugural CFP National Championship Game on Jan. 12, 2015.
Offensive Resurgence Ignites Halloween Victory
The Ducks broke out of a recent offensive funk on Halloween against then-No. 20 Northwestern, scoring 34 points with 441 total yards of offense to power a 34-26 victory in Autzen Stadium. Oregon's offense managed just 81 yards through the first 28-plus minutes of the game before finding life with a seven-play, 71-yard drive that ended with a 10-yard touchdown pass from QB Dylan Raiola to WR Dakorien Moore just before halftime to make it a one-score game. The Ducks' offense then scored three of their seven drives in the second half while putting up 289 total yards and 8.5 yards per play. Freshman RB Brandon Smith provided a spark off the bench with 129 all-purpose yards, including 82 yards on just eight carries with a two-yard touchdown run that gave Oregon a 27-23 lead in the fourth quarter. Raiola completed 22-of-31 passes for 336 yards and three touchdowns, including a 75-yard TD to Moore in the fourth quarter that pushed Oregon's lead to eight points. Moore finished with seven receptions for a career-high 128 yards and a career-best two touchdowns.
» Second straight game with 400-plus total yards and fifth of the season.
» Fourth game of 2026 with 300-plus passing yards, and third with three-plus passing touchdowns.
» Seventh game of the season with a touchdown both rushing and passing.
We'll Have Some Moore
WR Dakorien Moore has emerged as one of the top pass catchers in the country in his sophomore season, living up to his billing after arriving in Eugene as a five-star recruit. Moore leads Oregon with a career-high 41 receptions for 545 yards and six touchdowns through eight games, including 23 receptions for 234 yards and two touchdowns over the Ducks' last three games. Moore scored a touchdown in each of Oregon's first four games to open the season and is coming off his best career performance in which he caught seven passes for a career-high 128 yards and a career-best two touchdowns on Halloween against No. 20 Northwestern. Moore has started all eight games for Oregon after starting each of the first eight games as a freshman in 2025, leading the team with 28 receptions for 443 yards and three TDs in that stretch before missing the next four games due to injury.
» 23 receptions over the last three weeks are most in the Big Ten and tied for fourth-most in the FBS in that span.
» Career-high nine receptions for 70 yards in Week 8 at Illinois; seven catches the week before vs. Nebraska.
» First career 100-yard game vs. Northwestern and the first by a Duck since 2023 with 125-plus yards and two-plus TDs.
Smith Provides Spark vs. Wildcats
Both Davison and Hill were banged up in Week 9 against Northwestern, and freshman RB Brandon Smith enjoyed a breakout game off the bench to help fuel the Ducks to a comeback win over the No. 20 Wildcats. Smith racked up 129 all-purpose yards, rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown on just eight carries (10.3 YPC) while catching four passes for 32 yards and returning one kickoff for 15 yards. Smith had two rushes of 30-plus yards and also gave Oregon its first lead of the game in the fourth quarter with a two-yard rushing touchdown on 4th-and-goal. It was Smith's second touchdown of the season; he also scored in Oregon's Week 3 win over Portland State while rushing for a team- and season-high 85 yards on 16 carries. Smith is averaging 6.5 yards per carry this season, rushing for 207 yards and two touchdowns on just 32 carries.
Second-Half Clamps
Oregon's defense found its groove in the second half of Oregon's comeback win over No. 20 Northwestern in Week 9, giving up just 172 total yards and holding the Wildcats to just a pair of field goals over the final 30 minutes of play. It was a big turnaround for the Ducks after Northwestern totaled 20 points and 284 yards in the first half. The biggest difference came on third down, where the Wildcats were 6-of-9 in the first half before going just 1-of-8 in the second half and 0-of-3 in the third quarter.
Pass-Rush Race
Senior outside linebackers Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti are among the Big Ten's best pass rushers, and they are in a race to make Oregon history. Uiagalelei is currently tied for fourth all-time at UO with 24.5 career sacks, and Tuioti is eighth with 22.5. They are the seventh and eighth Ducks, respectively, ever to reach 20.0 career sacks and are trying to catch the all-time record of 29.5 held by Nick Reed (2005-08). Uiagalelei is tied for second in the Big Ten with 6.0 sacks this season while Tuioti is tied for fourth at 5.5.
