Big Ten Championship Rematch
The college football world will turn its attention to University Park, Pa., this weekend as No. 6 Oregon takes on No. 3 Penn State in a rematch of the 2024 Big Ten Championship Game. The Ducks defeated the Nittany Lions, 45-37, to win the conference title in their inaugural year in the league while earning the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff. This will be the sixth all-time meeting between Oregon and Penn State, and the first regular-season matchup since a 22-14 Ducks' win in University Park in 1964. Penn State leads the all-time series, 3-2, but Oregon has won two of the last three.

A Win Would...
» Be the eighth in program history over a top-three opponent, and first on the road since winning at No. 3 Ohio State on Sept. 11, 2021.
» Make UO 11-6 against ranked teams under HC Dan Lanning.
» Improve Oregon to 11-0 all-time in Big Ten play.
» Mark a 5-0 start to the season for the third year in a row.
» Be Oregon's 23rd straight regular-season win, the longest active streak in the country.
» Be UO's ninth straight on the road and improve the Ducks to 15-2 on the road under Lanning.
Ducks 4-0 After Rivalry Win
Oregon capped nonconference play last week with a dominant 41-7 win over in-state rival Oregon State, extending the nation's longest active nonconference home winning streak to 37 games. The Ducks won by 20-plus points for the fourth time in four games, scoring 34 unanswered points after being tied, 7-7, through the first quarter. QB Dante Moore was terrific once again while going 21-of-31 for a career-high 305 yards and four touchdowns, each going to a different receiver. The UO defense clamped down after allowing a 64-yard touchdown drive in the first quarter, surrendering just 147 total yards in the game including only 80 through the air. Eugene native ILB Bryce Boettcher led the way with 10 tackles and OLB Teitum Tuioti had 1.5 tackles for loss. Oregon extended the nation's longest regular-season winning streak to 22 games while winning its 19th straight home game.
22 Straight Regular-Season Wins
Oregon will put the nation's longest regular-season winning streak on the line this week at Penn State after pushing it to 22 straight games with a rivalry win over Oregon State. The Ducks have not lost in the regular season since a 36-33 loss at No. 7 Washington on Oct. 14, 2023. It is the longest regular-season win streak in program history, with the previous long being a 15-game streak from the final three regular-season games of 2009 through the 2010 regular season. Throughout the streak, Oregon is averaging 39.9 points per game while allowing just 14.9 points per contest. The Ducks have scored at least 30 points in 20 of the 22 games and have allowed 14 points or less 14 times.
Every Phase of the Game
Oregon established itself as one of the nation's most well-rounded teams in 2024 and is off to an even more balanced start in 2025. Entering Week 5, the Ducks are one of only two FBS teams (Indiana) in the top 10 for both scoring offense and scoring defense, ranking seventh nationally with 50.8 points per game while tying for ninth with just 9.3 points per game allowed. Oregon is also one of just four teams (Indiana, Missouri, Texas Tech) in the top 15 for both total offense (12th, 523.8 YPG) and total defense (12th, 228.8 YPG).
Offensively, the Ducks have been nearly perfectly balanced in all four games, including 253 yards both passing and rushing in the season opener vs. Montana State and 300-plus yards both through the air (319) and on the ground (312) in Week 2 against Oklahoma State. The Ducks nearly surpassed 300 yards in both categories again last week against Oregon State, passing for 305 yards while rushing for 280. Defensively, Oregon held a Montana State team that led both the FCS and FBS levels with 4,179 rushing yards in 2024 to just 46 yards on the ground on 27 carries, and then limited a famously potent Oklahoma State passing attack to just 67 yards through the air. Oregon held Oregon State under 100 yards both passing and rushing last week, allowing just 80 through the air and 67 on the ground. UO has also had impact plays on special teams, with WR Jeremiah McClellan blocking a punt in Week 1 and P James Ferguson-Reynolds rushing for 21 yards and a first down on a fake punt last week vs. Oregon State.

Playing Clean
The Ducks have done a great job of minimizing mistakes through the first four games, and they were especially disciplined in Week 3 at Northwestern while committing zero penalties in a game for the first time since at least 1996. Oregon has committed just 14 total penalties this season, tied for 13th-fewest in the nation and fifth-fewest among teams to have played four games. UO's 3.5 penalties per game is eighth-best nationally, and its 26.0 penalty yards per game is tied for fifth in the FBS. Oregon is one of just four FBS teams to commit zero penalties in a game so far in 2025, along with Eastern Michigan, Florida and Wisconsin.
Scoring At Will
Oregon's offense has been among the most dominant in the nation since HC Dan Lanning took over in 2022, and the Ducks have kept up that reputation early on in 2025. Oregon followed up its 59-point output vs. Montana State in the season opener with a 69-point explosion against Oklahoma State in Week 2, scoring 50-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time under Lanning and first time since the first two games of 2018. Outside of an end-of-game kneel down in the season opener, Oregon scored touchdowns on 16 of its first 21 drives to begin 2025, with nine offensive touchdowns against Montana State and eight against Oklahoma State. The Ducks have scored at least 30 points in all four games this season after a 41-7 win over Oregon State last week, their 29th 30-plus point performance in their last 32 contests since the start of 2023.
» Oregon is one of seven schools with multiple games of 59-plus points this season, and one of 10 to have scored at least 30 points four times.
» UO is No. 7 nationally with 50.8 points per game; one of seven schools averaging at least 50.0 PPG.
» Oregon is tied for No. 2 nationally with 27 total touchdowns scored; Indiana leads the FBS with 30.
» The Ducks have scored points on all 20 of their red-zone opportunities, most among teams scoring on 100 percent of chances, while coming away with 16 touchdowns.

Incredible Balance
You couldn't ask for a more balanced offense than what Oregon has produced through four games. After being perfectly balanced in the season opener with 253 yards both rushing and passing, the Ducks racked up 319 passing yards and 312 rushing yards vs. Oklahoma State. It was the first time since the 2023 season opener vs. Portland State that Oregon had at least 300 yards both rushing and passing in the same game, and the Ducks are one of only eight FBS schools to achieve that feat so far this season. The Ducks nearly reached that mark again in the nonconference final vs. Oregon State, passing for 305 yards and rushing for 280. Oregon is one of only two schools (Indiana) to have surpassed 250 yards both passing and rushing three times this season.
» Oregon ranks 10th nationally in rushing yards per game (255.25) and 37th in passing yards per game (268.5).
» Oregon's 25 offensive touchdowns have come from nine different players; tied for seventh in rushing touchdowns (14).
» 12 different Ducks have multiple receptions through four games, including seven with five-plus catches.
» UO recorded 300-plus yards both rushing and passing for the 16th time since 1996.
Explosive Ducks
Oregon was generating chunk plays at will in Week 2 vs. Oklahoma State, racking up 10 plays of at least 20 yards as well as five plays of 40-plus yards and four of at least 50. The Ducks had back-to-back touchdowns of 50-plus yards in the opening quarter, as RB Noah Whittington broke loose for a 59-yard TD run and QB Dante Moore found WR Dakorien Moore for a 65-yard touchdown pass. Oregon produced five plays of 20-plus yards om Week 3 at Northwestern, headlined by a 66-yard touchdown run by RB Dierre Hill Jr. that was Oregon's longest rush since the 2022 Holiday Bowl, and then erupted for 10 more in Week 4 against Oregon State. On the season, Oregon is tied for third nationally in plays of 50-plus yards (6) while also ranking in the top 10 for plays of 10-plus (T-10th, 70), 20-plus (4th, 11), and 40-plus (T-6th, 9).
New Era Under Center
Oregon faced a new challenge at the quarterback position coming into 2025, after the two most experienced signal callers in college football history led the Ducks over the last three seasons. The Ducks have had Heisman Trophy finalists at the position in back-to-back years, with Bo Nix earning a ticket to New York in 2023 and Dillon Gabriel following in his footsteps in 2024. Gabriel finished his collegiate career with a FBS record 63 career starts, breaking Nix's previous record of 61. With Nix (Denver Broncos) and Gabriel (Cleveland Browns) both now in the NFL, the Ducks have turned to redshirt sophomore Dante Moore under center in 2025. After sitting and learning behind Gabriel in 2024, Moore has picked up where Nix and Gabriel left off through his first four games, completing 71-of-95 passes for 962 yards and 11 touchdowns with just one interception.
» Moore ranks fourth nationally with a 74.7 completion percentage and fifth with a 195.90 passer rating.
» 71 completions have been distributed across 12 different receivers; three Ducks have double-digit catches from Moore.
» Completed at least 75.0 percent of his passes in each of the first three games.
» 52-of-70 (74.3) for 667 yards and seven touchdowns in the first half of games this season.
Career Day Vs. Rivals
Dante Moore put together the best statistical game of his career to close nonconference play against Oregon State, completing 21-of-31 passes for a career-high 305 yards and a career-best four touchdowns. Moore also rushed seven times for a career-high 53 yards, including a career-long rush of 28 yards. It was the first career 300-yard passing game for Moore, and he is one of 10 FBS quarterbacks with at least three games of three-plus passing touchdowns this season.

Relentless D
Oregon's defense was a driving force throughout the 2024 season and has been terrific once again early in 2025. The Ducks held Montana State to just 13 points in the season opener before keeping Oklahoma State out of the end zone and allowing only a field goal in Week 2. In Week 3, UO shut out Northwestern through three quarters and allowed a pair of late touchdowns in its Big Ten opener on the road. After yielding a first-quarter touchdown to in-state rival Oregon State, the UO defense put the clamps on the Beavers and did not allow another point in a 41-7 victory in Week 4.
Oregon is tied for ninth nationally with just four total touchdowns allowed this season (tied for fourth in the Big Ten) and one of four teams to not allow a passing touchdown entering Week 5. UO currently is tied for ninth in the country in scoring defense at just 9.3 points allowed per game, holding each of its first four opponents to 14 points or fewer after doing so seven times in 2024. Oregon's dominant effort vs. Oklahoma State marked the first time it has not allowed a touchdown in a game since a 35-0 shutout at Purdue last season.
» UO has allowed 14 points or less 21 times under HC Dan Lanning and DC Tosh Lupoi, and the Ducks have won 106 consecutive such games following the Ducks' 41-7 win against Oregon State in Week 4.
» Oregon allowed 21 points or less 10 times in 2024 and has done so in 10 consecutive regular-season games.
» 90.5 tackling grade from Pro Football Focus ranks second nationally and tops in the Big Ten, while their coverage grade of 90.6 is ninth-best in the country and third in the Big Ten.
» Oregon's total PFF defensive grade of 89.8 is 23rd-highest in the country and eighth in the Big Ten.
» The 147 yards of total offense allowed against the Beavers were the fewest given up by the Ducks since allowing 140 total yards to Portland State in 2010.
» It was just the fourth time since at least 1996 the UO defense held a team below 100 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in the same game, and the first time since 2010 against Portland State.
Setting The Tone
The Oregon defense has stifled opponents in the first halves of games this season, allowing teams an average of just 3.3 points in the first 30 minutes of play, including a first-half shut out of Northwestern in Week 3. The Ducks allowed a first-half touchdown for the first time this season against the Beavers, marking the initial points against the Ducks in the first quarter of games. In four consecutive weeks, UO has forced a punt on its opponents' opening possession of the game - forcing Montana State, Oklahoma State and Oregon State to three-and-outs to begin the day.
» UO's 3.3 points allowed in first halves of games is tied for the eighth-best rate in the nation, while its plus-26.0 first-half scoring differential ranks as the third-best in the country.
» Oregon has allowed just one touchdown outside of the fourth quarter this season, allowing a total of 16 points in the first three quarters of games.
» Oregon is forcing offenses into a three-and-out on 44.4 percent of drives - the second-highest rate in the country.
Mr. Australia
Boise State transfer James Ferguson-Reynolds has taken over punting duties for the Ducks this year after averaging 45.0 yards per punt over 39 games for the Broncos across the last three seasons. Oregon did not punt in the season opener against Montana State, but since then, the senior has totaled 237 yards on six attempts, averaging 39.5 yards per punt. Four of six punts have been placed inside the 20-yard line, including a season-best 51-yard effort against Oregon State in Week 4 that pinned the Beavers inside their own 5-yard line. The Geelong, Australia, native also put his athleticism on display against Oregon State with a 21-yard rush for a first down on 4th-and-4 in the third quarter.
» 21-yard run vs. Oregon State was the longest by an Oregon punter since a 30-yard rush by Kurtis Doerr on Sept. 25, 1999, the second-longest since at least 1996 and the third of at least 20 yards since 1996.
» Longest rush by a FBS punter this season and the only one of longer than 15 yards.
» Ferguson-Reynolds was an AFCA second-team all-American for Boise State in 2023, leading the nation with a 49.7 punting average while booming 29 punts of 50-plus yards and 23 pinned inside the 20-yard line.

After yielding a first-quarter touchdown to in-state rival Oregon State, the UO defense put the clamps on the Beavers and did not allow another point in a 41-7 victory in Week 4.
