
Ducks Drop Match at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Oregon fell to Nebraska, 3-0, on a windy Thursday night at Hibner Stadium.
The wind was a major factor in Thursday's game, consistently registering at 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 miles per hour throughout the night.
How It Happened: The Ducks (5-9-2, 1-6-2) took three shots in the first 15 minutes of the match and nearly scored on one by Taylor Bryan that bounced off the crossbar.
After the Ducks' opening volley, Nebraska (5-9-1, 2-6-1) went on the attack and scored in the 33rd minute after a defensive miscommunication gave the Huskers an open look at the net. Nebraska got a second goal off of a corner kick in the 40th minute.
The Huskers added a final goal midway through the second half.
Notable: The Ducks were called for a season-high 16 fouls. … Defender Lexi Lerwick attempted a career-high two shots, both of which were on goal. … The contest marked Haley McWhirter's 80th career match.
