Ducks Pursue National Title

WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. - No. 2 Oregon Acrobatics & Tumbling is one competition away from claiming the NCATA National Championship as they take on top-seeded Baylor.
After taking on two brand new opponents in the first two rounds of the 2023 tournament, the Ducks will take on familiar opposition in the Bears. In total, the two sides have met on 10 occasions in postseason action.

THE DUCKS vs. THE BEARS
The Ducks and Bears meet for the third time this season, this time for the NCATA National Championship. Saturday's meeting will be the 35th between the sides and the fifth on the championship stage. Baylor took both meets this season in Eugene and Waco. Oregon's two highest overall scores of the season have come against Baylor. The Bears are looking to win their eighth consecutive national title under Felecia Mulkey.
DUCKS PUNCH TICKET TO NCATA FINAL
Second-seeded Oregon defeated No. 6 Limestone 268.705-262.625 Friday afternoon. The Ducks regained some form and improved upon several performances from the opening round victory. Notably, Oregon gave themselves a cushion by taking the compulsory event for the sixth time this season and posted the second-highest total of the season in the tumbling event. A number UO athletes contributed to the stellar performance in the tumbling section, including freshman Rickelle Henderson. Henderson posted a 9.850 in the six element tumbling pass and helped contribute a 9.525 in the duo tumbling portion.
HISTORY OF SUCCESS
The Ducks have a storied history with acrobatics and tumbling, including being one of the sport's pioneers. They are also one of the most successful programs in the country, with appearances at every national championship event since the first one in 2011. Oregon has reached the NCATA Championship Finals eight times in the 12 years of the event, winning four consecutive national titles from 2011 to 2014. The Ducks reached the semifinals in 11 of the last 12 competitions and have finished as national runner-up five times. Oregon also owns 50 individual event titles, and 28 Ducks have been named All-Americans.
