Ducks Postseason Runs Comes to an End
04/24/26 | Acrobatics & Tumbling
AZUSA, Calif. – The Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team fell to Quinnipiac in the NCATA Semifinal on Friday night at the Felix Event Center, 260.990-256.010.
The Ducks (6–3) carried a narrow 0.9-point lead into the final event but could not hold off the Bobcats, as Quinnipiac (7–1) surged in the team event to secure the win and advance to its first championship appearance since 2018.
Oregon capped off its fourth straight winning season, earning at least one victory at the NCATA Championships during that stretch.
"All in all, I am so proud of my student-athletes and what they put out on the floor today," head coach Taylor Susnara said. "It was a neck-and-neck battle. It feels good that we executed, but it's hard that we are not moving on to the next day,"
The 2025–26 season will be the final year Acrobatics & Tumbling competes without NCAA championship recognition, with the sport set to be officially added 16 years after its inception.
"We are so happy to be a part of it," Susnara said. "Founding members competing today is amazing. Proud to be an Oregon Duck through and through. Oregon is very special to be a part of, and there is a lot of pride today."
Oregon and Quinnipiac are two of six programs that helped launch the sport during the inaugural 2011 NCATA season.
How It Happened: Oregon fell behind in the Compulsory round, 36.500–36.200, but answered with a 28.200 in the Acro event. Behind a 9.700 in the 5-Element Acro from Cassidy Cu and Angelica Martin, the Ducks moved ahead and built their largest lead of the meet at 64.400–62.275.
The Pyramid event proved to be the closest of the night, with just 0.050 separating the teams as Oregon posted scores of 9.500 or better across the board. The narrow margin carried into halftime, where the Ducks led 93.250–91.175.
Quinnipiac edged Oregon in Toss, 28.350–27.600. Despite a strong 9.775 aerial pass from Morgan Willingham, the Ducks dropped the Tumbling event 54.225–53.800.
Oregon left it all on the mat in the team event, but it was not enough to extend its postseason run.
Up Next: Event finals begin Sunday at 10 a.m. PT on ESPN+.
