AZUSA, Calif. – Oregon acrobatics and tumbling closed out the NCATA Championships in style Sunday at the Felix Events Center, capturing three event titles on the final day of competition.Â
Oregon competed in 12 of 15 event finals, battling through its first nine before catching fire in the meet's tumbling events. The Ducks found their rhythm late, using that momentum to win back-to-back titles and claim three of the final six events — duo, trio and aerial tumbling.Â
Sophia Wing and Briya Alvarado jumpstarted the surge in the duo event, posting a 9.125 to secure Oregon's first national title of the day. The win marked the first event final titles for both Wing and Alvarado.Â
In trio tumbling, Nyla Lassiter, Morgan Willingham and Carly Garcia recorded a 9.150 to earn back-to-back titles for the Ducks. The victory marked Oregon's seventh trio tumbling national title, matching the most in program history. It also was the first event final title for all three student-athletes, with Lassiter becoming the first Oregon freshman since 2023 to win an event final.Â
Willingham added Oregon's final title of the day in aerial tumbling, scoring a 9.775. It marked her second title of the day and the Ducks' first aerial tumbling event final championship since 2012.Â
With three event final titles Sunday, Oregon has now captured at least one title at the event finals in every season under head coach Taylor Susnara, including four consecutive years with multiple titles.Â
