No. 2 Oregon Hosts No. 1 Baylor on Pac-12 Network

The No. 2 Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team hosts No. 1 Baylor at Matthew Knight Arena on Sunday for the matchup of the season.
Eugene, Ore. - One of the NCATA's most prolific rivalries, the No. 2 Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team hosts No. 1 Baylor for the first of two meetings this season on Sunday, March 3 at 4:00 p.m. inside Matthew Knight Arena.

Compulsory – The Ducks registered a win over Arizona Christian, 277.755-247.745, at home in two school's first matchup ever on Feb. 23. Oregon tallied two perfect scores of 10.0 in the pyramid and toss heats. This marks the second time this season that Oregon has earned a 10.0 in the toss heat, after recording a perfect score at Quinnipiac on Feb. 17. The team earned its highest compulsory score so far this season with a 39.20.
Acro –Senior Megan Barney and sophomores Yeelena Faustino, Mikaela Moore and Addie Lacewell earned a perfect score of 10.0 for the first time this season in the 5-element heat against Arizona Christian last Sunday to help the Ducks to a season-high acro score of 29.15.
Pyramid – This Sunday's meet will be another chapter in Oregon and Baylor's heated rivalry. Baylor is the only active program to have beaten the Ducks more than once, recording 11 of Oregon's 16 losses in program history. Despite that, the Ducks still hold a 12-11 series record over the Bears.
Toss - Oregon tied the fourth-best score in program history in the toss event with a 29.50 against Arizona Christian on Feb. 23. The last time the Ducks scored that amount in the toss event was at King on March 29, 2017. The Ducks set a new program record in the event last season, scoring a 29.70 twice throughout the season at Hawaii Pacific (March 26, 2018) and vs. Baylor (April 8, 2018).
Tumbling – Senior Hannah Blair led the Ducks with the highest heat score in the open pass during the first two meets of the season. She collected a season-best 9.850 against Hawaii Pacific on Feb. 8 , followed by a 9.700 at Quinnipiac on Feb. 17. Sophomore Payton Coon took over and tallied the highest heat score in the 6-element heat with a 9.800 vs. Arizona Chrisitian last Sunday.
Team – Sophomore Addie Lacewell was named the NCATA Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Feb. 21 after her performance in Oregon's win over No. 3 Quinnipiac. Lacewell competed in five of the six events and in 10 different heats at Quinnipiac, helping the Ducks to their first perfect-10 of the season in the toss heat of the compulsory event.
TEAMMATE TO COACH
Taylor Galvin transitioned from teammate to coach during the 2019 season. Galvin was named Oregon's new assistant coach on July 31, 2018, after graduating from Oregon in June of 2018. She helped the Ducks to reach the NCATA Championships three times while compiling a 31-13 career record over that span. Galvin was a three-time All-American (2016-18), two-time open tumbling champion and two-time 6-element tumbling pass national champion (2016 & 2017). She captured her second open tumbling national title in 2018 behind a perfect score of 10.00. As a senior, Galvin was twice named the NCATA Player of the Week.
THE 2019 SCHEDULE
The acro and tumbling team will host two more home meets this season. Oregon faces four-time national champion Baylor on March 3, and the Ducks round out their home slate with Azuza Pacific on March 30. This year's NCATA National Championships will take place from April 25-27 at Baylor in Waco, Texas.
POLL POSITION
For the fourth straight season, the Ducks opened the year ranked second in the NCATA Coaches Poll. Four-time reigning NCATA national champion Baylor took first. Oregon received two first-place votes, with the Bears receving the remaining 20. All but one of UO's opponents this season are ranked in the top 10 with Quinnipiac at third, Azuza Pacific fourth and Hawaii Pacific seventh.
SCOUTING REPORT
The four-time NCATA National Champions and current No. 1 ranked team, Baylor, is 3-0 on the year heading into Saturday's meet. The Bears opened the season with road victories over West Liberty and East Texas Baptist, before returning home to defeat No. 3 Quinnipiac. Led by former UO head coach Felecia Mulkey, Baylor is 29-1 over the last three seasons, with their only loss coming against the Ducks in 2017. BU returned two of their three All-Americans from last season in Ceara Gray and Kaylee Adams, losing Lauren Sturm to graduation.
