
Ogwumike?s Double-Double Drives No. 4 Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford senior Nnemkadi Ogwumike led the fourth-ranked Cardinal to a 93-70 victory over Oregon on Thursday night at Maples Pavilion.
Posting a double-double before halftime, Ogwumike guided Stanford to its 70th consecutive home win with a game-high 32 points and 15 rebounds. It was Ogwumike's eighth double-double and fourth 30-point game of the season
Stanford (12-1, 3-0) shot 46.9 percent (38-of-81) from the field, and knocked down 14 three-pointers led by the combination of Taylor Greenfield and Bonnie Samuelson. Greenfield scored a career-high 17 points shooting 5-of-8 from three-point range, while Samuelson came off the bench to hit six of her 13 attempts from long distance to total 18 points.
Oregon (9-6, 1-2) was led by sophomore Deanna Weaver's 16 points, while senior Nia Jackson added 13 points four rebounds and four assists. Sophomore Danielle Love added 11 points, knocking down three three-pointers.
Freshman Liz Brenner grabbed a team-high tying and career-best eight rebounds along with senior Jasmin Holliday.
Stanford held a 47-40 rebounding edge, scoring 19 second-chance points on 14 offensive boards.
The Cardinal brought a 43-31 lead into the locker room, but the Cardinal had led by as many as 21 with 3:36 to play until the Ducks ended the first period on a 10-1 run.
Stanford shot 42.5 percent in the first half led by Ogwumike's first-half double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Off the bench, Samuelson added 15 points after shooting 5-of-8 from three-point range.
The Ducks shot 35.1 percent in the first half led by Weaver's eight points, while Brenner led the Ducks with six rebounds. Jackson poured in seven points – including four in the run that ended the first half.
The Ducks remain on the road, and play California at 2 p.m., Saturday at Haas Pavilion.
Oregon returns to Matthew Knight Arena on Thursday, Jan. 12, hosting Arizona at 7 p.m.
