Giuliana Portolesi

Giuliana Portolesi was brought on as an assistant coach by Jessica Drummond in May 2025. She will oversee the Ducks’ goalkeepers and assist with recruiting.
Portolesi comes to Oregon after spending the 2025 season as an administrative assistant for the William Jewell women’s lacrosse. She was responsible for analyzing defensive strategies, offensive sets, transition ability and draw control throughout the season, helping guide the Cardinals to a 7-10 record in just their second year of competition. She also assisted in goalkeeper training, overseeing a unit that averaged 8.33 saves per game.
Portolesi spent the last two seasons as a goalkeeper at Queens University. Prior to that, she attended Onondaga Community College, where she was named a 2023 NJCAA all-American after leading the nation in save percentage, total saves, goals against average and total goals allowed. She helped lead OCC to the national title game twice and claimed two Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) championships, earning a spot on the NJCAA and MSAC all-tournament teams in both her years of competition.
Additionally, Portolesi was selected for the Italian senior national team at the 2022 World Championships in Towson, Md. The Italian team finished 18th in the tournament with a 4-3 record, reaching the platinum division championship game.
Off the field, Portolesi also served as the lacrosse and field hockey program director at the Lake Bryn Mawr Camp in 2024 and a high school head coach for Monster Girls Elite Lacrosse in 2022.
A native of Spokane, Wash., Portolesi earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences from Queens University in 2025.
