Ducks Drop Regular Season Finale
04/19/25 | Women's Lacrosse
CARSON, Calif. – The Oregon lacrosse team struggled to gain momentum in the regular season finale on Saturday, falling 21-3 to USC at Dignity Health Park.
The Ducks were competitive in the center circle, narrowly losing the draw control battle 14-13, but were outshot 34-13 by the Trojans. USC (10-6, 3-5 Big Ten) was able to maximize its free position opportunities, scoring on seven of their 10 shots.
Emma Ing and Bri Carrasquillo each tallied to points for Oregon (6-10, 0-8 Big Ten). Ing scored a goal and an assist while Carrasquillo tallied two assists to lead the way for the Oregon offense. Rachel Pallo posted five draw controls, bringing her season total up to 91.
How It Happened: Oregon was held scoreless through the opening quarter as the Trojans started the game on a 7-0 run. USC would score two more times in the second quarter before Ing notched the first goal of the game for the Ducks, scoring off the low shot after catching the pass from Carrasquillo.
Ing then turned into the facilitator of the Oregon offense, finding Lyla Hurley cutting in front of the net unmarked and setting her up for an easy score, but the Ducks went to the locker room trailing, 13-2.
Hurley has tallied at least one goal or assist in each of the last 14 games, while Ing has earned points in five of the last six games.
The Ducks were outscored 6-0 in the third quarter and USC opened the fourth quarter with a pair of goals. Kristiana Strtak was able to snap the Trojans' 10-0 second half scoring run with her first goal of the year off the 10th assist of the season from Carrasquillo.
Cassidy Eckert subbed in in goal with 10 minutes left to play in the fourth, saving all three shots that were sent her way.
Notable: Rachel Pallo ended the year with 91 draw controls after nabbing five against USC, the second most in a single season in Oregon program history … Carrasquillo finishes her collegiate career with 91 career goals, 40 of which have come this season with the Ducks … During her 14-game point streak, Hurley has tallied 16 goals and 11 assists.
