Owns strong championship resume in both collegiate and amateur circles, and has played a team-high 89 career rounds. As sophomore, led team in Pac-10 Championships (16th overall), and later won Oregon Amateur and played in U.S. Women’s Amateur. Challenged for 2008 Giustina Memorial Classic win en route to a career-best third-place finish as a junior, and was also a frequent contributor as a freshman. As a prep, led her Tualatin team to a pair of top-10 4A state finishes.
2008-09: Played four fall events for Ducks and ranked third on team in the final standings of each. Led team in final round of the fall in the Turtle Bay Collegiate (1-over 73) for her tourney-best score (225). Posted her third career top-15 finish in Giustina Memorial Classic (14th-t, 233) in fall opener.
2008-09: Played in six events for Ducks, including two in the fall and four in the spring. Notched her first top-five overall placing in her career in the Giustina Memorial Classic (third, 71-70-79), and posted a pair of under-par rounds in the same tournament for the first time. Ranked second behind tourney winner Kendra Little in that event, and added another top-10 finish in the Duck Invitational (ninth-t, 77-76-74-227) at nearby Shadow Hills Country Club - one of two stops that she played as an individual. Added her third under-par score (1-under 71) in March's UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational. Capped season with her second West Regional appearance (103rd, 245). Ended season with team's eighth best tournament score from the Giustina event (220), and two of its 10 under-par rounds on the season. Ranked sixth on team in overall season scoring average (78.2) and spring average (78.6) and seventh in fall action (77.5). In summer of 2009 after season, advanced to match play in the OGA Amateur (Round of 16) and PNGA Amateur (quarterfinals), after strong showings in the qualifying of both events (third-tie, 76-75-151 / eighth, 88-82-170).
2007-08: Stamped herself as one of state's finest amateur players with convincing win in Oregon Amateur in June in Bend, and later earned U.S. Women's Amateur invitation with her third-place effort in the U.S. Women's Amateur qualifier in the Portland Golf Club. In August 2008, played the two stroke play qualifying rounds in U.S. Women's Amateur (110th, 78-80-158) and was only six strokes shy of the final qualifying spot at the Eugene Country Club-hosted event. In the 99th Oregon Women's Amateur in June, she won 6 and 5 over former Duck and 1993 event champion Karly Mills in the two-round match play final at the Bend Golf and Country Club. She advanced to the championship after wins vs. Lara Tennant (semifinal, 4 and 3), Breanne Smith of Canby (quarterfinal, 4 and 3), and Avery Sills (3 and 2) and Elizabeth Jarrett (4 and 3) in the rounds of 16 and 32, respectively. She also led the event's stroke play qualifying by two strokes (74-76-150). In April, paced team in Pac-10 Championships (16th, 75-70-81-226) and also led Ducks in the final standings of the spring opener, the Lady Gator Invitational (77-73-74-224). Carded team's low scores in the first and third rounds in Florida stop in February, and also had a career low and team tourney low in Pac-10 second round at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe. In fall, ranked fourth for Ducks in final standings of all four fall appearances and highest finish on squad (third) came in autumn finale, the USF Invitational (24th-tie, 233). Played 12 fall rounds and led team once - the final round in the Giustina Memorial Classic (collegiate best even-par 72) - and climbed into the top 40 on the leaderboard in the final standings (37th-tie, 230). Repeat National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Academic All-America selection and Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team honoree.
2006-07: Played all 10 events, two of which were as an individual, and scored in six of the other eight. In the first four spring events, led team in the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational (32nd-tie, 155), ranked second on squad in the Pinehurst Challenge (38th-tie, 160) and stood third in the Baja Classic (29th-tie, 157) and Duck Invitational (21st-tie, 237). Shot season low rounds of 1-over 73 in the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational final round and Salbasgeon Invitational first round. Led team in four of her 26 rounds, all of which came in the final 11 of the spring campaign. Shot season low of 73 twice – in the opening round of her second collegiate event, the Salbasgeon Invitational, and in the final second and final round of the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational. During summer of 2007, capped season with 11th-place finish in the OGA Women's Stroke Play Championships (80-82-162). In months prior, tied for 11th place in the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club (76), and advanced to 98th Oregon Golf Amateur Championship quarterfinals, held at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, thanks to wins over Marcie Hoover (3 and 2), and Amy Mombert (3 and 2), after she ranked 11th in stroke play (80-79-159). She also advanced to the PNGA Women's Amateur quarterfinal at Wentachee Country Club after she ranked 13th in the qualifying (83-77-160). NGCA Academic All-American
Prep: In June 2006, she advanced to the semifinal of the 2006 Oregon Women’s Golf Amateur with wins over Kendra Little (2-up) and former Duck Laura Tennant (1-up), then lost in the semifinal to former Duck NCAA qualifier and eventual tournament champion Johnna Nealy (4 and 3). In the OSAA Golf 4A State Championships, she placed sixth in ’06 (155, 83-72, +11) and 22nd (tie) in ’05 (168, 89-79, +24), and led her team to top-10 places in ’06 (eighth) and ’05 (10th). THE OREGON DIFFERENCE: Hildahl on the Oregon Women's Golf Team (12/09)
Q: How long have you been a Duck fan and wanted to come to Oregon?
KH: “I have been a Duck fan since around middle school when I starting going to football games with my best friend. I loved the atmosphere of Autzen Stadium, and ever since then I wanted to be a Duck.”
Q: When you talk to others about how you love being a Duck, what are the first things you talk about?
KH: “The facilities, athletic & academic. And I love the fact that the entire community loves the U of O and is so supportive of all the students.”
Q: Besides athletics, what things initially attracted you to the University?
KH: “I knew that I wanted to major in something business-related so I was drawn to its great business school. I also liked that I wouldn't be too far from home.”
Q: What things do you remember from your Oregon recruiting trip?
KH: “I remember really being in awe of the great facilities. I also liked meeting all of the people available to help like the academic advisors and the staff from the athletic department.”
Q: In what ways does playing in the nation’s top conference prepare you to be your best?
KH: “I have really improved because I’ve been able to compete against the very best competition not from just the U.S., but from all over the world.”
Q: What are the special parts about playing in a college town like Eugene?
KH: “The entire community is so supportive of U of O athletics and you really feel like everyone is behind you.”
Q: Talk about the team’s chemistry and what sets it apart from other programs?
KH: “Our team gets along so well and spends a lot of time together which is not like most teams. We have been really lucky to enjoy each other's company on and off the golf course, and I think we are much closer than the average team.”
Q: When you work with head coach Ria Quiazon, what elements of her coaching style do you appreciate the most?
KH: “I really like the short-game drills that she has us do and also our team drills. She is very open to helping us with different shots that we have never tried before, and I like that she helps us create a really well-rounded game. We practice a lot of different shots and learn to do them well. In addition to golf, she is committed to helping us find a balance between school and golf which helps us when we are traveling a lot.”
Q: Oregon’s state-of-the art facilities are a big thing in the recruiting process – what were your impressions of various ones?
KH: “The treatment center is of course an incredible facility. It gives all of the athletes the opportunity to be the best we can be and the trainers are very helpful and supportive of our goals. I really like just being around the Casanova Center, Moshofsky Center, and treatment center. There’s a great atmosphere where everyone is willing to help, and all of the athletes are working hard. It is very inspiring.”
Q: What’s your major, and what led you to pick it?
KH: “My major is accounting, and have always wanted to do something business-related since I was in high school.”
Q: What extra academic resources do you take advantage of, and how do they help you be your best in the classroom?
KH: “I really enjoy using the Jaqua Center study hall facility. It is a great place to study and get all the materials I need to be ready for my exams, etc. The academic advisors are also helpful in helping plan our schedules for the term and keep you focused on graduating.”
Q: Eugene offers so many close-by options to practice nearby – talk about what each course offers to help you with particular parts of your game.
KH: “Eugene Country Club is a great place to be able to play from week to week. We really try to take advantage of getting to play there because it is such a great course and especially because our Pac-10 Championships are being held there this year. Emerald Valley is a great place to get to practice and play. We have a great practice facility there that includes a huge putting green with two large greenside bunkers, a separate green for pitching, and a fairway bunker. I couldn't imagine a better place to work on my short game. Shadow Hills is another great course to get to practice and play on. They have the best greens.”
Q: Do you have a special pride to wearing the ‘O’,and why?
KH: “I always feel very proud to wear the 'O' and show that I am a part of a Duck team. It reminds me that I am always connected to the University and that I am also now a part of a special community that includes all athletes from U of O in the past and present.”
