2003 Outlook
There is no replacing a year of experience in the Pac-10 which Bell gained in 2002. After earning the starting nod as a freshman and playing in nearly every game a year ago, Bell has improved her skill level as well as her understanding of collegiate volleyball. Enters fall as the Ducks? likely starter, but will have stiff competition with the addition of a second Fab-50 setter.
2002
As a freshman, Bell showed little signs of fear on the court throughout the season and established herself as a viable leader on Oregon?s offense. Her desire and effort was highlighted by her ability to somehow get to the ball and keep a rallying going. Not only did she lead Oregon in assists (844) as a freshman, her defensive skills were also a strong point to her game as she was third on the team in digs per game (2.27). Bell had 10 or more digs in seven matches, including a career-high 20 digs vs. Arizona State Oct. 18. Continually showed the confidence to maintain her starting job throughout the season and seemed to get better in tougher situations.
