Joined Duck throws program for winter term in 2007, and will likely redshirt indoor and outdoor seasons. Competed previously in variety of throws events for Colgate, and has also taken classes at Chemeketa Community College.
Before Oregon: Competed for Colgate in the shot put, discus and javelin in 2007. In mid-April's Heptagonal Championships, placed fifth in the shot put (44-6 1/4) and added second in the javelin (132-10). In Patriot League finale outdoors, placed sixth in the discus (sixth, 130-10). Indoors in '07, won Patriot League shot put title (46-4) with school record and also claimed seventh in the weight throw (46-7.25), and a week later competed in the ECAC Championships. Was tabbed as a team athlete of the week, thrower of the year and MVP.
Prep: Qualified for Oregon state championships three years (twice in the 4x100m, twice in the shot put and once in the javelin and discus). Four-year conference champion and letterwinner. Prep personal bests follow: shot put (40-0), discus (115-0), javelin (133-0). Also a four-year letterwinner at goalkeeper in soccer and was an all-region first-team and all-league selection. Graduated with honors degree. High School (Coach): Cascade '05 (Don Petersen).
