Kamran Araghi

Title:
Edge

Kam Araghi joined head coach Dan Lanning's inaugural coaching staff at Oregon in 2022 as a defensive analyst and has been a major part of the Ducks' upward trajectory on defense since. Araghi moved into a defensive graduate assistant role in 2023 before working with Oregon's edge defenders in 2024 and 2025, and he was promoted to a primary assistant coach role in 2026 as the Ducks' edge coach.

“I am very grateful to Coach Lanning for his belief in me from day one,” Araghi said at the time of his promotion. “We have a special culture here at Oregon and I am excited to continue developing our players and help move this program forward."

A 2020 graduate from Nebraska, Araghi got his start in coaching as a defensive quality control assistant at Buffalo in 2021 before joining the Ducks.

Araghi has helped both Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti put up terrific numbers on the edge in 2024 and 2025. Uiagalelei led the Big Ten in the regular season in 2024 with a career-high 10.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss, and Tuioti ranked fourth in the Big Ten in 2025 with a career-high 16.0 TFLs while leading the Ducks with a career-high 9.5 sacks.

With Araghi on staff, Oregon's defense has gotten better each year under Lanning. The Ducks ranked in the top 20 in scoring defense in 2023, 2024 and 2025 after ranking 74th in 2022, and UO was in the top 30 for sacks in both 2023 and 2024 after tying for 115th in 2022. In 2025, the Ducks ranked seventh nationally in total defense (273.7 YPG) and 11th in third-down defense (29.70%).
