Ducks Open 2026 Season Thursday Against Portland State

The second season under head coach Tracy Joyner begins Thursday against Portland State at Hillsboro Stadium (7 p.m.). The Ducks lead the all-time series with the Vikings 13-4-1 and have won the last four meetings. The week continues with the home opener Sunday at 1 p.m. versus Gonzaga. Oregon is 9-1-3 all-time against the Bulldogs, who are entering their first season in the Pacific-12 Conference.

BIG TEN PRESEASON HONORS
Carly Cormack, Ellie Felt and Lauren Kenny were named to the 2026 Big Ten Preseason Watch List.

WHITE CALLED UP
Freshman forward Giselle White has been called up to Argentina's U20 National Team. White is currently in Argentina's team training camp in preparation for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, which begins Sept. 5 in Poland. Argentina's final roster for the World Cup will be announced later this month.

JOYNERS UNIQUE AS NCAA DI HEAD COACHES
Coach Tracy Joyner and her husband Justin Joyner are both head coaches at the NCAA Division I level. They are the only husband-and-wife team that are head coaches at two different DI universities. Justin Joyner is in his first season as Oregon State's men's basketball coach after helping lead Michigan to the 2026 NCAA title as an assistant coach.

DUCKS LOOK TO BUILD ON STRONG 2025 DEFENSIVE EFFORT
The Ducks showed significant improvement at the defensive end of the field in coach Tracy Joyner's first season. Oregon gave up 21 goals in 2025, an improvement of 12 over the 33 yielded in 2024. The 21 goals allowed were tied for the fifth fewest in program history overall, and tied for the third-best effort in the modern era in a non-Covid shortened season. The Ducks also had one more shutout (5) than they did in 2024 (4).

KEEPING IT CLOSE
Of the Ducks' 18 matches in 2025, 14 were decided by one goal or finished in a tie.

2025 SEASON ENDS ON A HIGH NOTE
The Ducks capped a challenging 2025 season on a high note, upsetting Big Ten Champion Washington, 2-1, in the season finale on Oct. 26. Against the eighth-ranked Huskies, Carly Cormack scored her team-leading fourth goal of the year in the 35th minute. After the Huskies tied the match 1-1 in the 58th minute, Lauren Kenny scored the game-winner from point-blank range on a set piece with 2:00 left in the match.
