
Martin Recognized as NCATA Specialist of the Week

EUGENE, Ore. – Sophomore base Angelica Martin was named the NCATA Specialist of the Week after an outstanding performance in the acro event, helping the Ducks to a win over No. 4 Iona.
Martin competed in five heats and the team event, contributing to Oregon's total score of 268.105. The Delaware native contributed three scores of 9.950 in the compulsory toss, five element acro and six element acro heats.
Martin took the mat with Cassidy Cu to match their best score in the five element acro heat and established a new career high in the seven element.
This marks the first weekly award for Martin, who earned an honorable mention last week. Martin was recognized after all seven meets last season with one NCATA Freshman of the Week nod and six honorable mentions.
Ashlyn Parlett received an honorable mention for Athlete of the Week after contributing high scores in 10 heats as well as the team event. Parlett's best score of the meet was a 9.950 in the compulsory toss, which was one of nine scores above 9.0.
The Ducks make a trip to Hawaii Pacific next Wednesday, before returning to Eugene for the regular season finale against Baylor on April 6.
