Ducks Sweep Doubleheader at STC

UO picks up 4-0 wins over Idaho, New Mexico State.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team completed a doubleheader sweep of Idaho and New Mexico State at the Student Tennis Center on Saturday, keeping its perfect spring record intact.
The Ducks earned back-to-back 4-0 victories over the Vandals and Aggies, highlighted by perfect singles performances from Tilde Jagare and Olivia Symons on courts one and two, respectively.
Oregon 4, Idaho 0
The Ducks claimed the first point of the day, securing wins on two of three doubles courts. Bridget Mihulka and Patsy Daughters paired up for their first doubles win of the season finishing 6-4 on court two, while Hinata Furutani and Juliette Santitto secured a 6-4 win.
Symons was first off the court in the singles, defeating Schrader of Idaho in straight sets. Jagare followed with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Matthews on court one, setting the Ducks up 3-0 in the match.
Freshman Virginia Crocker solidified the Oregon victory, securing the match with a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Hanna Koprwska on court three.
Daughters won her first set 7-5 and was leading 4-0 when Oregon clinched the match, and Furutani held a 6-2, 5-4 lead on court five. Mihulka dropped 4-6 in the first set, but recovered for a 6-1 second and led 1-0 before going unfinished.

Oregon 4, New Mexico State 0
The Ducks carried momentum into the day's afternoon match, winning the doubles point with 6-3 wins on courts one and three. Jagare and Symons defeated Whitney Moon and Anna Pinaieva and Hadley Appling paired up with Crocker to take down Anna Klimova and Nadia Nemeth.
Jagare quickly concluded her second singles win of the day, defeating Pinaieva 6-2, 6-1 on court one. Symons followed on court two with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.
Mihulka provided the winning point for the Ducks, sealing their sweep of the day with a 7-5, 6-2 win against Kilmova on court six.
Daughters led 6-2, 4-3 on court four when play was suspended. Furutani lost her first set 2-6, but came back for a 6-2 score in the second and Crocker paused at 4-6, 4-4.
The Ducks will continue their fall slate in Texas with a pair of matches against Texas Tech and Sam Houston on Feb. 1 and 2 and will return to the Student Tennis Center to host Portland on Feb. 7.
