Home Sweet Home
Following a dominant road win at Rutgers last week to bounce back from their first loss of the season, the No. 6 Ducks are back home to host Wisconsin in Autzen Stadium. Oregon is seeking its fifth straight win over the Badgers after escaping Madison with a 16-13 victory last season, a win that gave the Ducks a 4-3 lead in the all-time series. UO is looking to start a new winning streak at Autzen Stadium after its FBS-leading 18-game home win streak was snapped two weeks ago against Indiana. The Ducks are 22-2 at home under head coach Dan Lanning (since 2022) as well as 50-4 in Autzen since the start of the 2017 season.
A Win Would...
» Be Oregon's fifth straight vs. Wisconsin, and second in Eugene.
» Improve UO to 13-1 all-time in Big Ten play.
» Make UO 42-7 all-time under Lanning, and 23-2 at home.
» Move the Ducks to 51-4 at home since 2017.
Ducks Bounce Back In Dominant Fashion
Coming off its first regular-season loss since 2023, Oregon made history with a dominant 56-10 victory last week at Rutgers to get back in the win column. UO extended the nation's longest road winning streak to 10 games on the strength of a historically explosive offense, which set a program record with 12.50 total yards per play and produced the fourth-most total yards ever with 750. QB Dante Moore was terrific with a career-high-tying four touchdown passes and 290 yards on 15-of-20 passing, including a stretch of six straight passes of 20-plus yards (three for touchdowns). The Ducks rushed for their most yards since 2015 with 415 while averaging 11.5 yards per rush, the program's most since at least 1996. RB Noah Whittington rushed for 125 yards and accounted for three total touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) and RB Jordon Davison eclipsed the century mark for the first time with 100 yards and a score on just four carries, while TE Kenyon Sadiq caught four passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Oregon's defense was just as relentless, holding Rutgers to just 2.9 total yards per play for the lowest average allowed by UO since 2019. The Ducks forced three turnovers, including an interception and a forced fumble by DB Aaron Flowers and an interception by OLB Blake Purchase.
» The second-largest margin of victory in a conference road game in program history (49 at Washington State, 9/27/08), and tied for seventh-largest in conference games overall.
» The eighth 40-plus point victory all-time in a conference road game, and first since 2018.
» 42 points in the first half marked the 27th 40-plus point half in UO history, including the fifth under head coach Dan Lanning and the second this season (41 in first half vs. Oklahoma State).
» 750 total yards of offense are the fourth-most in UO single-game history and most since Nov. 7, 2015.
» 12.50 total yards per play is a new program record and the highest by a Big Ten team since Oct. 2, 2010 (Michigan, 12.76).
» Just 202 total yards allowed, the seventh-lowest in a conference road game since 1996 and lowest since Sept. 28, 2024, at UCLA.
» Gave up only 2.93 total yards per play, Oregon's lowest allowed in a game since Sept. 7, 2019, vs. Nevada (2.82), lowest in a conference game since Nov. 4, 2006, vs. Washington (2.51), and lowest in a road conference game since Nov. 21, 1992, at Washington (2.00).
» First game in program history with at least 750 total yards of offense and less than 250 total yards allowed, and just the third with at least 700 total yards and less than 250 yards allowed.
Last Season Vs. Wisconsin
Other than rival Washington, Wisconsin is the lone repeat opponent from Oregon's 2024 regular-season Big Ten schedule. The Ducks came out on top in a thrilling 16-13 contest in Madison to claim their fourth consecutive win over the Badgers. Wisconsin led 13-6 entering the fourth quarter before the Ducks began leaning on the running game, with RB Jordan James finishing a 13-play, 81-yard drive with an 11-yard touchdown run to tie the game. That drive featured a crucial fourth-down conversion from QB Dillon Gabriel to TE Terrance Ferguson. After a pair of stops by the Oregon defense, the Ducks again stayed with the running game and got into field-goal range for a go-ahead, 24-yard kick by K Atticus Sappington. Needing one more stop with less than two minutes remaining, OLB Matayo Uiagalelei came away with the play of the game, intercepting Wisconsin QB Braedyn Locke to seal the win. James ran 25 times for 121 yards and a touchdown to lead the offense, and WR Evan Stewart had 10 catches for 92 yards. Uiagalelei had a sack and five tackles to go with his game-clinching interception, and OLB Teitum Tuioti also had a sack and forced a fumble.
