STANFORD, Calif. — No. 16 Oregon built a four-run early lead and hit four homers but it was not enough as Stanford rallied for a 10-7 Pac-12 Conference win on Sunday at Sunken Diamond.

How It Happened: Stanford (17-20, 9-9 Pac-12) took the early lead with a little help from the Ducks scoring an unearned run in the second for a 1-0 lead.

Oregon (27-12, 11-7 Pac-12) answered in grand fashion in the fourth taking the lead behind three home runs. Dominic Hellman got it started leading off the inning with a 441-foot bomb to center field. After the next two hitters were retired, Drew Smith sparked the rest of the rally with a double over the first-base bag before scoring on a Bryce Boettcher two-run homer. After Carter Garate singled, Justin Cassella made it 5-1 with a two-run shot over the left-field wall.

Stanford one-upped Oregon's big inning answering with six runs in the bottom half of the fourth and added another run in the fifth to take an 8-5 lead.

Jacob Walsh pulled the Ducks to within two in the sixth. After Garate led off the inning with an infield single, Walsh drove him home with a RBI double.

After Stanford stretched the lead back to three with a homer in the sixth, Mason Neville answered with a 473-foot tape-measure home run over the scoreboard in right-center field.

Box Score Notes: Oregon had its streak of Pac-12 series wins snapped at five … Walsh (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) had his 12th multi-hit game of the season and his third in the series … It was the 45th of his career, one shy of cracking the top 10 all-time at Oregon … Hellman (2-for-2, HR, RBI) had his second multiple-hit game of the season and the fourth of his career … Cassella (1-for-4, HR, 2 RBI, R) had his seventh multiple-RBI game of the season and the 30th of his career …Boettcher (1-for-3, HR, 2 RBI, R) had his fourth multiple-RBI game of the season and the eighth of his career … Garate (2-for-4, 2 R) ) had his eighth multiple-hit game this season and the second in as many days … It was the 10th of his career.
