Second Half of Big Ten Play Begins Wednesday

No. 10 Oregon plays Washington (6:30 p.m., BTN) in a midweek matchup.
EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 10 Oregon volleyball team faces a familiar foe Wednesday with its midweek road match at Washington. The teams met just over two weeks ago in Eugene. The Ducks enter the second half of Big Ten play with a 16-3 record overall and an 8-2 mark in conference matches.
Oregon will then return to its home floor Saturday to host UCLA at 8 p.m. Both matches will air on the Big Ten Network. The Ducks have won five of six including three in a row.
Series History vs Washington
Oregon has won four in a row against Washington, its longest streak in the all-time series since winning five straight from 1983 to 1985. In the first meeting this season, the Ducks won a five-set thriller in Eugene. Oregon faced a 2-1 deficit and was down 10-5 in the fifth before rallying. Dating back to 2018, the Ducks hold a slim 7-6 lead in the recent history.
Series History vs UCLA
Oregon has won four-consecutive matches in the series, the program's longest winning streak in the head-to-head. Dating back to 2018, the Ducks have won eight of the last 11 meetings including a road sweep in the team's lone meeting a year ago.
Last Time Out
The Ducks erased a 23-19 deficit in the first set on its way to a straight-set win over Rutgers (Oct. 27). Mimi Colyer and Onye Ofoegbu each had 12 kills and UO held the Scarlet Knights to a .104 hitting percentage. Roberta Purashaj made her second start of the season and responded with 37 assists, six blocks and five digs; Oregon hit .297 in the match. Mackenzie Morris and Maya De Los Reyes each served up three aces.
The Hot Hand
Junior OH Mimi Colyer registered 20 kills in the Ducks' sweep of Maryland (Oct. 25) in Eugene. She had just two errors on 36 swings, good for a .500 hitting percentage. With the showing, Colyer became the third player in the nation with at least 20 kills coupled with a .500 or better efficiency. It was the 12th 20-kill performance of her career.
How They Rank
After four-consecutive weeks at No. 11, the Ducks moved back to No. 10 in Monday's release of the AVCA coaches poll. Collectively, Oregon ranks seventh in the country at 2.91 blocks per set. The team is also among the top 25 in hitting percentage (21st, .269) and opponent hitting percentage (24th, .164).
The Schedule
Oregon will play six of its final 10 matches of the regular season on the road beginning Wednesday. The remainder of the team's home schedule features UCLA (Nov. 2), Nebraska (Nov. 7), Northwestern (Nov. 15) and Purdue (Nov. 27). The Oregon-Northwestern match will double as the Ducks' Senior Day.
