Ducks Rally For a 4-3 Win Against Fresno State

Moraga, Calif. – The Ducks battled their way to a victory against Fresno State at the Korth Tennis Complex in Moraga, Calif., on Saturday.
How it Happened: The Ducks have been strong in doubles play this season and came out strong again against Fresno State. The duo of Rifanty Kahifani and Plobrung Plipuech won their doubles match first, beating Fresno State duo of Deniza Marcinkevica and A.C. Hummel, 6-2. The duo of Julia Eshet and Lillian Mould won both of their doubles matches this weekend to secure 11 wins as a pair. The Duck duo defeated their opponent, 6-4, to claim the doubles point for the Ducks.
Oregon went into singles play with a 1-0 lead. Uxia Martinez Moral had a strong performance and finished singles first, defeating Deniza Marcinkevica (FS) 6-1, 6-1. Fresno State put the next two points on the board to tie the match up. First, Shir Azran (FS) defeated Rifanty Kahfiani (6-4, 6-0) and soon after Ella Husrefovic (FS) defeated Madisen Olsen (6-4, 6-3).
Myah Petchey won her first set, 6-3, and battled in the second set to come out victorious, 7-6. Julia Eshet lost to A.C. Hummel (FS) 6-4, 6-3.
With the match tied up at 3-3, Lillian Mould was left to secure the match victory for the Ducks once again. Mould was put in the same position at home against Northern Arizona. She came out victorious both times. Against Fresno State, Mould lost the first set but came back fighting and won sets two and three to beat Georgia Lawson (FS) 2-6, 7-6, 6-2.
