Nagle Adds Vetu Mam as Assistant Coach

Longtime PSU head men's coach joins Ducks coaching staff.
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon head women's tennis coach Courtney Nagle has announced the addition of longtime Portland State head men's tennis coach Vetu Mam as the program's assistant coach on Friday.

Mam spent seven seasons leading the Vikings men's program after taking over as head coach in 2019-20, serving as PSU's volunteer assistant from 2015-18. He guided Portland State to 36 dual victories while five players earned all-Big Sky honors during his head coaching tenure.

"We are so excited to welcome Vetu and his family to our team," said Nagle. "With seven years of experience as a Division I head coach, Vetu brings so much playing, coaching and leadership experience to the table. I'm beyond excited to get to work with him and to see the impact he'll have on our team. We couldn't be more excited to have such a great person, coach and leader joining our program."

Under Mam's guidance, Nikola Dimitrijevic was voted to the all-Big Sky first team with Matteo Fortini grabbing second-team honors and Tommy Edwards earning honorable mention accolades in 2021. Also that season, the doubles tandem of Edwards and Fortini were named second-team all-Big Sky in doubles with Sam Roberts and Tommy Hsu earning honorable mention.

In the classroom, the Vikings earned the prestigious honor of being an ITA All-Academic Team while six players claimed ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades in 2026. Additionally, Mam's squad was named Big Sky Academic champion for the 2025-26 academic year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.82.

As a player, Mam was a member of the Cambodia national team and participated in the Davis Cup from 2012-15, while also playing in the Futures Tour in Asia. Mam concluded his collegiate playing career at PSU, where he recorded seven singles wins for the Vikings while earning his degree in physical activity and exercise in 2011.
