LAST TIME OUT
A shorthanded Duck squad fell to USC, 5-2, on March 23 and UCLA, 6-1, on March 24.
Against USC, UO was forced to forfeit doubles on court three, turning the attention to courts one and two. Julia Eshet and Rifanty Kahfiani were the first to finish with a dominate 6-1 result on court two, however the Trojans answered right back with a 6-2 win on court one to take a 1-0 lead.
Following the doubles point, USC was quick to clinch the match with a UO forfeit at court six and two victories at the No. 4 and 5 spots. But despite a victory in hand for the visiting team, Oregon would not easily surrender the remaining three matches.
Paiton Wagner was the first one to make some noise for the Ducks, claiming a straight-set victory on court two.
Kahfiani finished shortly after Wagner, fighting her way to a three-set victory on court three, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.
One court over, Daniela Nasser was battling with No. 49 Salma Ewing. Nasser competed closely with her ranked opponent, but ultimately fell in the third-set tiebreak, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 10-6.
Sunday was a similar story for the Ducks. Oregon was forced to forfeit No. 3 doubles against UCLA, giving the Bruins an advantage to begin the match. UCLA capitalized, securing a victory on court one to gain an early 1-0 edge.
In singles, UCLA quickly clinched the match after rattling off wins on courts two and three as well as picking up a point on court six due to a UO forfeit.
Eshet broke up the Bruins' scoring by claiming a point for Oregon on court four as UCLA retired Alaina Miller midway through the second set.
In the final match to finish, Nasser was battling with No. 56 Jada Hart. Nasser pushed the match to a third-set tiebreak after dominating in the second set, but the senior ultimately fell, 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (9)
RECORD SETTING SENIOR
Daniela Nasser recorded her 62nd career win with a straight-set victory over Daniela Morales of San Diego on Feb. 16. With 62 wins, Nasser moves into ninth on UO's career wins list, passing Kumi Nagamoto (1987-90). Nasser needs one more win to tie Shweta Sangwan (2015-19) for eighth on the list.
IN THE RANKINGS
In doubles, Rifanty Kahfiani and Allison Mulville cracked their way into the rankings and now sit at No. 66 after a dominate 6-3 win over 20th-ranked Emily Arbuthnott and Michaela Gordon of Stanford.
