10/31/17 | Women's Tennis
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team closes out their fall campaign this week in southern California as senior Alyssa Tobita and junior Shweta Sangwan head south to play in the inaugural ITA Fall National Championships Nov. 1-5 while the rest of the squad participates in the Jack Kramer Invitational.

The 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships is the only intercollegiate event to feature competitors from all five divisions competing for a national championship.
The Duck pair of Tobita and Sangwan have been red-hot so far this fall season going 8-0 in tournament play, earning an automatic berth in the fall nationals following their historic ITA Northwest Regional doubles championship.
As a team, Tobita and Sangwan are 31-9 all-time ranking them fifth on the Oregon career doubles victories list.
The Ducks open the tournament at 2:45 p.m. PT Wednesday squaring off against Ulyana Grib and Maryna Veksler of Florida International in the round of 32.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Oregon women's tennis team will cheer on their teammates from just down the way in Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., taking part in the Jack Kramer Invitational Nov. 2-5.
Sophomore Julia Eshet has been dominant this fall season sporting a 5-1 singles record with her only loss coming in three sets to California's Anna Bright, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5, in the round of 16 at the ITA Northwest Regionals. The Hollywood, Fla., native went 8-1 during fall tournament play last year on her way to becoming one of UO's top performers her freshman season.
After only playing five matches last season, fellow sophomore Rifanty Kahfiani has already surpassed that mark with a 5-2 singles record this fall. Kahfiani was one of two Ducks to sweep singles play at the Husky Invitational earlier this month winning all three of her singles matches.
Despite dropping her opening matches at both the Husky Invitational and the northwest regionals, junior Daniella Nasser has managed to bounce back each time to maintain a record of 3-2 in singles play so far this fall season.
Freshman Paiton Wagner and senior Nia Rose look to snap their current losing skids and end the fall season on a high note after dropping their last two and three matches, respectively.
Looking Ahead: The Ducks' fall season will come to an end following this weekend's tournament play.
