
Ducks Fall 21-8 at No. 19 Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Oregon lacrosse team dropped the first match of its Spring Break road trip 21-8 at No. 19 ranked Hofstra on Monday afternoon. The Pride improved to 6-2 on the season while the Ducks fall to 4-4.
The Ducks were paced by Alex Breiner and Jana Drummond once again, with each player scoring two goals. Dominique Christiansen had a season team-high seven draw controls while goalkeeper Salliebeth Finnegan made nine saves in 60 minutes of action.
Corrine Gandolfi netted seven goals for Hofstra, the most by an opponent in a single game this season. Liz Falco had a team-high three assists for the Pride, who had 11 different players tally a point.
In team stats, Hofstra edged the Ducks in shots (36-26), ground balls (19-14), clears (16-10) and turnovers (14-20). Oregon beat out Hofstra in draw controls (16-15), free position goals (4-3), saves (9-8) and fouls (20-24).
The Ducks will need to rebound quickly with a game at 1 p.m. on Thursday against Delware. Oregon will then play Johns Hopkins on Saturday and Florida next Tuesday.
