
Ducks Victorious in Civil War

EUGENE, Ore. ? The second leg of the Northwest Dodge Dealers Civil War Series proved to be worth all the hype on Friday night, as the 14th-ranked Ducks defeated visiting Oregon State, 3-1 (30-19, 25-30, 30-16, 30-19) in front of 2,777, the largest crowd of the season at Mac Court.
The victory over the Beavers also gave head coach Jim Moore
his 400th career victory, he is 48-39 in his three seasons at
Junior Gorana Maricic, the reigning Pac-10 and National
Player of the Week finished the match with her 11th double-double of
the season, 18 kills and 15 digs. She totaled 24 points on the night, brining
her season total to 556.5, setting a new single-season record for
Freshman Heather Meyers added 18 kills (a new career high), hitting a match-high .625, and adding three service aces.
Sophomore Neticia Enesi matched her season high with 12 digs, hitting .556, and setter Nevena Djordjevic led the Ducks with 38 assists and a career-high tying three kills.
The Beavers' Rachel Rourke had a match high 19 kills, but
the Beavers hit just .145, compared to
The Ducks' Sonja Newcombe added 13 kills.
The Ducks will end their season on the road, visiting Washington State on Wednesday and No. 5 Washington on Friday.
