EUGENE, Ore. ? The second leg of the Northwest Dodge Dealers Civil War Series proved to be worth all the hype on Friday night, as the 14th-ranked Ducks defeated visiting Oregon State, 3-1 (30-19, 25-30, 30-16, 30-19) in front of 2,777, the largest crowd of the season at Mac Court.

Oregon junior libero Katie Swoboda broke Oregon's all-time dig record in the second game, surpassing Teri Kramer's record of 1,481, a mark held since 1987. Swoboda finished the match with 25 digs, and now holds the record with 1,497.

Oregon improves to 19-9 on the season, and 8-8 in the Pac-10, the Ducks' best conference mark since the 1989 squad finished 21-9 overall and 10-8 in league.

Oregon State drops to 10-18 overall and 3-13 in the Pac-10.

The victory over the Beavers also gave head coach Jim Moore his 400^th career victory, he is 48-39 in his three seasons at Oregon, improving the team's win total each year.

Junior Gorana Maricic, the reigning Pac-10 and National Player of the Week finished the match with her 11^th double-double of the season, 18 kills and 15 digs. She totaled 24 points on the night, brining her season total to 556.5, setting a new single-season record for Oregon.

Freshman Heather Meyers added 18 kills (a new career high), hitting a match-high .625, and adding three service aces.

Sophomore Neticia Enesi matched her season high with 12 digs, hitting .556, and setter Nevena Djordjevic led the Ducks with 38 assists and a career-high tying three kills.

The Beavers' Rachel Rourke had a match high 19 kills, but the Beavers hit just .145, compared to Oregon's .291.

The Ducks' Sonja Newcombe added 13 kills.

Oregon State totaled 16.0 blocks compared to Oregon's 10.0

The Ducks will end their season on the road, visiting Washington State on Wednesday and No. 5 Washington on Friday.

QUICK QUAKCS: The victory for Oregon ties the Civil War Series at 2-2 between the two universities, the next head-to-head match up will be at Autzen Stadium when Oregon football hosts the Beavers on Dec. 1...the crowd of 2,777 was the second largest all-time in Oregon volleyball history...of the top-10 crowds all-time for Oregon volleyball at Mac Court, four have been tallied since in the last two years...senior Karen Waddington was honored prior to match, playing in her final regular season contest at Mac Court...this is the second consecutive year Oregon has defeated the Beavers in both meetings.
